Of course it's true, it's responcible for all the failings of the British education system.

Exams proove nothing. Fact! I can't speak for the United States, but it's true in the UK.

GCSE and A-Level don't teach subjects, they teach students to pass an exam paper, i.e. what's on it. If somebody got an A* at GCSE grade I wouldn't be over the moon for them to be honest, because all they have done is learn an exam paper.

National diplomas and Degrees are far more effective in education. Everything I know I credit to what I learned in College and University rather than School or sixth form.

I feel TOO meany exams proove nothing, but i feel really, the exams are only there (To my year, for example) To say what set we will be in... And anyway, i would rather have the exams, than be put into sets for the work we do over the year, because my teacher said, she was going to put me into middle set (7Y2) because of my poor work in class, but the grade i got in my Exams (5a) SHe is keeping me in Top set (7Y1). So in a way, it's more of an observation rather than you learning things... Anyway, whats to learn on an exam paper?
