Did Kovu lose his coolness?

This is about adult Kovu:

I think he was quite a cool character, specially at the beginning when he saved Kiara from the flames or in Kiara's hunting lessons (you know, he seemed so confident and made those cool faces).
However, when he started falling in love with Kiara, his personality changed a little bit.

So here's my question: Do you think Kovu lost his coolness when he fell in love with Kiara?

I'm not saying that he shouldn't have fallen in love with her (I think they're really cute together). I'm just asking if you people think that being 'more cute' made him become 'less cool'

He is still KINDA cool,but he was cooler when he had his jerkish attitude.
