Sorry, but no. It's unnatural. Every creature on this earth was created to eat something and we were created as omnivores(meaning we eat both meat and vegetation). Although, I disagree with the way the animals are killed, I see no wrong in eating meat.

Lions eat meat, wolves eat meat and we can too.

Although, we have no right to kill them for clothing (unless you are someone who lives off the land, eskimos for example).

In my eyes it's :

-Wrong to abuse animals
-Wrong to take away their habitat
-Wrong to kill them for clothes if other options are available
-Wrong to use wild animals in circuses (tigers and such)
-Wrong to kill animals for sport

agree with JC and Emily .. i myself have Inuit blood and also the fact i'm quite thin  and can't really do anything bout it but.. meat is like.. a part of me.. i'd probably die XD .. i'm not against anyone that is Vegan or Vegetarian but like as Emily said that wolves, lions, cats, dogs, birds(some),and the list goes on that they eat meat but you don't see any of them going vegetarian because they feel bad for killing food that feeds them. but it is inappropriate to do what the butchers do but if you don't then buy organic meat 1. it's less cruel to the animal 2 they're not being tortured (if i heard/saw right).

eating meat for humans and other animals is a way of life and survival stuff.. all of our ancestors or most of them ATE meat like almost 24/7 .. and to the vegetable thing.. they aren't really living living.. they don't walk, breath, speak, nor have flesh XD..

thats my opinion on Vegetarianism

I agree with Emily. Our species was designed to subsist as omnivores, capable of consuming and digesting plant and animal matter. And I see no reason to fight nature on that. I enjoy eating meat in most forms (though eating organs, such as liver, is absolutely OUT for me).

I respect that some people make the move to being vegetarians or even vegans, but I see no reason to stop, and I do not like when hardcore, militant members of those movements try to ram the "evils" of meat eating down society's collective throat. If they want to subsist that way, so be it. But they have no business forcing it upon others.

I once freaked out a vegetarian by calling attention to the fact that the Burger King french fries she was eating were once part of a happy little potato...that should should imagine all those "eyes" (lol, potatoes have structures called "eyes") staring up at the food preparer, slicing into it with a carving knife to viciously tear its life away! GAAAH!

(lol that got her screaming. What fun it is to tease hardcore members of various "green" movements. )

Agreed. I'm not one to question anybody's lifestyle choice, but I personally feel that it is a basic human right to eat meat, because we were designed to. That's why we have these little canine teeth; they're not for nibbling vegetables. We could all stand to eat a little less meat, but it's not fair for organisations like PETA to try and preach to us that 'eating meat makes kids fat' when there is no hardcore scientific evidence to back up such a ridiculous claim.

I don't like my veggies, explains why I'm on three different vitamins a day, but I think if you want to go vegetarian or vegan, go ahead but ONLY if you see a dietitian FIRST. Very important.

However, it isn't like animals are absolutely inhumanely slaughtered and we are designed to be omnivores, so we have to eat BOTH foods to maintain good health. Or else you'll end up on three different vitamins a day like old Auntie Cobalt |D

The law of the jungle was once "Eat or be Eaten." [Speaking of which, you should read Sinclair's THE JUNGLE] Something must die so that another may live. I still prefer NOT to think about the life the chunk on my plate once had before it ended up where it was. And for this reason, I'd never watched a single documentary on the meat industries, because quite frankly, I enjoy being an omnivore. XD

Don't get me wrong. The methods people use, I hear, can be very inhumane. But err... no offense, but their dead either way. And as long as what I don't know doesn't hurt me, I'm good to go. x]

I myself have nothing against vegetarians. However, I do hold certain opinions on the topic.

For one, it's unwise to be a vegetarian because you're cutting out a source that doesn't need to be cut out. From what I've heard, some vegetarians can get very sick should they suddenly eat meat. This is, truthfully, extremely dangerous. What if there was a vegetable shortage? Neglecting the animal source of energy results in that source being a poison, which, could be dangerous in certain situations.

Also, vegetarianism is really only available(healthily available) in a modern society with a booming economy and a middle-class or higher status, where you never think twice about whether or not you're having dinner tonight.

As for the animal cruelty before slaughtering them for food....the way I see it, just be glad you're getting food. Similar to above, if you lived in a comparably poor country, you're not going to think about (and probably not care) what happens to the animal before it becomes your food. In my opinion, the only thing to worry about when dealing with meat is the reliability of the provider to provide fresh meat, and to ensure that my chicken, is actually chicken.

Yes, of course, treating animals as humanely as possible would be good, but I'm not about to let that be a deciding factor in whether or not I will eat said meat.
