i know what retiredBSer means. steet all the spammers i see in the rant section only spam here for some reason, i havent seen them post obnoxious comments anywhere else.
Maybe because they think Rant Board is somewhere spam is legal where they can rant about every little problem.

Want spam to stop? Then you'd need essentially a 24-hour, scheduled staff of moderators ready to deal with something at a moment's notice. And we have already seen, in recent discussions, how not only unpopular that idea seems to be, but how allegedly difficult it would be.
Verdict? When you want someone to stop a certain behavior, or you want to discourage it, you don't then enable it and encourage it by giving those who engage in it a place to do so...it will only continue to encourage them to do it elsewhere even in spite of having a "dedicated place to spam". Think of the mindset of younger teens and kids in general. And look at how they generally behave on this site (and others). And I think you can see the logic in not allowing a place for them to do that sort of stuff. The old adage "curing the disease by killing the patient" sounds about right for this situation. And that's not what we want. In fact, in this case it wouldn't cure the disease...it'd FEED it.
1) Yes, I agree there are still some good rants in RB.
2) Actually rant board usually gets spammed by same people and most of them only spam the RB.
3) Togo and UK are doing a pretty good job of that, right.
4) No, we'd need a staff with Eastern mods. ( From Australia etc.) I think it's easier than having a scheduled staff.
5) I wasn't suggesting a place of allowing spam. That would not work.
