I have noticed in the papers (New York times) that gay people are being abused just because they are gay. I think this is very wrong people have absolutly no right to do this to them just because they are in love with the same gender, its like saying that children are bad because they aren't adults, or that dogs are bad because they aren't wolves. Its stupid, they're being abused and forced out of thier country just because people don't like they way they run thier lives, I'll say this, its none of their business. Would they like to be beaten around because thier gay?! They can't help who they fall in love with, what matters is that they love one another, why can't people just accept that??? My uncle (he's not really related to me or my family but he's my mother's good firend) he was gay but his boyfirend died, and he is the sweetest man I know, and some of my mother's friends are gay, but does that mean that thier bad people?! No! I just hate it that this is happening to those poor people!! We're all the same inside, we all have decisions, choices, beliefs, love interests, hearts (black or made of gold) why can't people just see that?

If this needs to be locked go ahead and lock it.

I do believe that gays have the right to be pushed into the spotlight somewhat more. Naturally, I'm not insinuating it should be promoted, but gays are people as well. I digress, but I do not really see how people can be offended by something that is completely natural. Some may argue somewhat that people who are gay has a brain damage, that makes them.
I disagree with that theory, simply because the only substansial evidential material of this so-called research is based completely off subjective results. I.e forged material and similar.

Going back on the subject at hand, a gay person has every right a straight person, whether it's marriage (under religious circumstances, I couldn't care less. There are several non-religious 'churches', at least in Norway, that allows gay marriage. Although it's only been slowly legalized during the last three-four years), a house, choosing who to be with, and the list goes on.

The gay discrimination seen in highly religious countries, like in USA (although I can't possibly keep up-to-date with everything that happens down there, so do correct me if I am wrong), is because of the religion itself, and subjective moral standards that other people adapt.
You might call it the "follow the wave"-effect.


Every human being has the right to choose whether he/she wants to love someone of their own gender or not, marry whoever they want, and have their own lives. Who are we to deny these rights to a certain part of the people?
In all essence, it compares to the racism of African Americans/black people before they won their freedom. Are we really reliving our past mistakes?
I say we shouldn't. We should be respectful of people, regardless of how they are and stop denying them the rights they are entitled to.



All that aside, the discussion of gay rights is heavily influenced by religious topics, in addition to - as JerseyCaptain pointed out - breaking the politics ruleset here on BaltoSource. I am most definitely sure this will be locked, but I wanted my voice heard this time anyway ^^ I am open to continue this discussion over MSN or PM's (tomorrow, of course) if someone really REALLY wants to argue against/discuss my views on the matter.
