Starfire, that's EXACTLY how a troll wants you to react. They're fed by your interaction...the more you feed them, the braver they get. Best thing to do, and I know this is a nearly impossible concept to grasp, is to IGNORE them, and get a MODERATOR, since that's what we're here for. Just tell yourself that every time you see a troll, just ignore him, and whatever he says or does and report it to a mod. It'll either go away, or be banned, and it makes our job that much easier.

I've done my share of ranting.
Just ignore them, and report their actions, when a moderator comes around, they'll bag the perpetrator and be done with it.

Oh yes, trolls are an absolute nuisance. There was someone on the rant board the other day, of whom I was very close to accusing of being a troll. (I'm sure a lot of you know who I am speaking of, but I will not mention their name, even though they are gone now).
But it's true. You just have to ignore, and they'll go away. They're a bit like an annoying advert for a product that nobody wants.
(And personally, I often find troll's attempts at being 'offensive' more unintentionally hillarious rather than outrageous).

To be known as rude and obnoxious. If you get annoyed at them easily, just ignore it. Although I tend to be a little bit evil and provoke them into getting fustrated that they're not being very good at trolling (as most are terribly bad at it).

But, yeah, it's highly annoying when any members(not just new ones) break rules and think that they're "all that". Unfortunately there are several free IP hiders and changers available for free or very low prices online, there are hardly any affective ways to keep a person banned, if they want to come back badly enough they will. The most annoying thing about a troll is it's persistence.

The most annoying thing about a troll is it's persistence. While correct, I find that most trolls have problems with logic and stick to a naming pattern that is very predictable, thus allowing me and my 3rd party softwares to instantly ban any new accounts a troll could make. Naturally, it's not perfect (predictability is never to be trusted), but it helps a lot. Last time we were trolled, it took care of about five simultaneous accounts. Either way, finding a troll by logic is very easy, so getting out of the ban won't do it much good. I digress; most troublemakers follow an obvious logical pattern.

Just keep in mind, for some people it's hard to ignore people. For example, people who have anger management issues. For them, it's hard to ignore someone like trolls. (I was not trying to offend anyone in that post. I was just giving some info.)
