Hey. I don't know if anyone has seen this, and you might want to check your Balto movies on this since I couldn't find a picture. I think I may be dreaming and I want to know if I am or if someone else sees this too. When the ice is turned over, and Balto is under the ice in the water in the first movie here's what I see: When Jenna is digging at the ice and you see a little bit through the ice, I see Balto being dragged from the bottom side of the ice! I think it's Muk and Luk taking him off the ice to get him out, but I'm not sure if I'm just seeing things or if it really is there. Is anyone else seein this?

I thought it was just him looking for an air hole.

I went through it frame-by-frame, and we can't see them being grabbed at all. This furry white ball is in fact Jenna's reflection off the ice.

I found another pic. It's not just Jenna's reflection, look really closely...

The confusion isn't about whether it's Balto or not as it clearly is him underneath the ice below Jenna but whether Muk and Luk can be seen carrying Balto away. I must admit that I will have to watch this again but I'm pretty sure that it's just Jenna's white underfur reflecting on the ice, which maybe you might have thought was Muk or Luk? Personally I think the reason he is moving away is cause he had just passed out from lack of oxygen and what little current there was in the frozen lake had carried him away.

He wasn't breathing from an airhole. Balto drifted off where he was because he had fallen unconscious due to oxygen deprivation and probable water in the lungs or throat - it's the only scenario that explains why he was unconscious when dragged out of the lake, for sometime afterwards and only was revived after he threw up the water.
Although he could easily could have had brain damage from the oxygen deprivation, and probably should have been rested. Brings a thought as to whether perhaps he fell a bit ill after the run - he'd certainly be tired, that's for sure...
