I remember this movie WAAAY back when. Possibly before I even saw Balto. But either way, it's a real classic that never really gets old. Heck yeah, I still enjoy watching this movie -- even more so than I enjoyed Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, or Princess Mononoke.
The story revolves around two young girls who've just recently moved into an old home near a very large and ancient tree, wherein dwells the Spirit of the Forest, Totoro. They befriend the spirit, but soon, things begin to go awry. The girls' mother is very sick and may possibly be dying. One of the girls runs away in an attempt to save her, and in order to find her back, the other must learn to believe in the spirit and its magic to help bring her home.
I never forgot this movie and probably never will. It really is a heart-warming classic anyone can enjoy. ^^
