A fanfic for you Star fans out there. (like myself) I no longer am obsessed with Aleu, and I may even request from Steet a name change.

Star: A Father?

EPILOUGUE

>Star had basically ditched Steele and had become friends with Balto over the past year or so. His old owners had moved away and given him up to someone else, so he was no longer a sled dog. The family consisted of a man and a woman, a twelve-year-old girl, and the dog of his dreams: Spot. Spot was a Border Collie/Husky/German Shepherd mix that had much the same personality as Star. She was younger than he, but a year old, but they got along nicely. Then they ended up falling in love, and all that other crap, and they Star found out that Spot was pregnant.

(NOTE: To clear things up, Spot, although usually a male dog name, is a FEMALE dog in this story. I’m not gay… and neither is Star as far as I’m concerned. 0.o)

Ch 1
>”Puppies! Star, are you sure that’s what she said?” Balto asked, surprised. “Sure I’m sure,” Star said excitedly. “Well that’s pretty neat,” Balto said. “Congratulations.” “Thanks,” Star said, his tail wagging. “How long has she been expecting?” Balto asked. “It’s nearly time,” Star said. They hadn’t really been in touch lately. Balto smiled. “You know, raising pups isn’t that easy,” he said, being an experienced father. “Yeah, I know,” Star said. Jenna came running up to them suddenly. “Star, come here, I want to talk to you,” she said. She seemed excited. Balto made to follow, but Jenna said, “No, Balto, this is for Star alone. Stay there.” Balto nodded. When Star and Jenna were just outside the shed where Jenna had had her puppies, Jenna said, “Spot’s had her puppies,” Jenna whispered. “I let her use my shed.” Jenna pushed the door open. “Spot!” Star cried, bounding in. “Star,” she replied quietly, nuzzling one of the pups. Star walked over to where she lay. She had four beautiful pups, each unique because of Spot’s mixed heritage. “They’re… beautiful,” he said, smiling. “Yeah,” Spot said, smiling as well.

Yes, it's a pargraph long chapter. Live with it. XD

Ch 2

>”Tahkia! Tahkia, get back here,” Star called, racing after his daughter. She looked back and grinned laughingly, then continued running. “Alright, I give up,” Star called, sitting down and panting. Tahkia kept running. Star turned around to leave, knowing that she would come back later.
>When he was back Spot was angry with him. “You let her go? Why? What if she got killed by wolves or something?” And then Tahkia’s head poked through the dog door. “Wolves? I don’t think so.” She laughed. “C’mon, dad, they need you and I to take an important package to White Mountain. Let’s go!” She pulled her head out and waited for her father. He was soon out there with her. “What is it?” he asked her. “The package? I don’t know…”

Ch 3

>And the package turned out to be… Puppies! White Mountain was short on sled dogs so all owners with puppies were encouraged to send them on the journey. Star was lead dog, as usual, since Steele was far, far away in the states these days… And Balto ran behind him, then Kaltag, Dusty, Kodi, and Tahkia. “Mush!” the musher said, after all the dogs were ready. Star and the rest of the team took off.

Eh... yeahhh....

Ch 4

>At the beginning of their journey there was a fierce blizzard. A few days after the beginning Star seemed hurt. He was limping slightly. Balto noticed, and brought the sled to a halt. “Star, are you all right? You should ride on the sled,” he said worriedly. “No, I’m fine,” Star said. But over the next couple of days his limping got worse to where he could no longer hold his weight on that leg and stops were more frequent. “Star, you’re slowing us down,” Dusty complained. “Yeah, she’s right,” Kodi agreed. Star stopped and Balto stepped out of his harness and helped Star out of his, then helped him onto the sled. The musher came around and unclipped the harness from the sled, and they moved on. A couple of days later they were nearly there, but Star wasn’t doing so good. “Hang in there, Star,” Balto whispered to himself under his breath as he ran, mitts pounding across the ground.
>That night was especially cold, and Balto helped Star make a bed under the snow as most sled dogs did. Then Balto made his own and settled down to sleep. Tahkia went to each dog in turn as she did every night to find one to sleep with. Star had growled at her, as usual, because he preferred to sleep alone. Kodi had simply told her no, and Dusty, Kirby, and Ralph all refused. She woke Balto last. “Go sleep by yourself. You’re not a puppy anymore,” he growled. She whimpered and went to make her own bed. She dug at the snow furiously. She was in a bad mood now. The musher watched her for a moment, then set about making camp against the blizzard. He lit a fire and pulled the blanket off the sled. He put a smaller blanket over the puppies to keep them warm, then settled down for the night.
>In the morning, they were off again. Star seemed a bit better, but not much. They made White Mountain by noon. Star finally got the vet care he needed and the puppies went to their new owners. Then they turned around and started back toward Nome. Luckily, the blizzard was gone, so it would take them but a day. They got back finally, to cheers from a crowd. They had been worried about the team, and were glad they were safe. Spot came running out with her girl and the two of them greeted Star and Tahkia enthusiastically. “I’m so glad you’re safe! I was worried,” Spot said, smiling and nuzzling Star. Taking the harness of Star, Kayota, the girl, picked him up and hugged him. He wagged his tail. He was her favorite. Spot, meanwhile, was greeting Tahkia. After the greetings were done, all the dogs and people went home and Nome was peaceful again, an empty town with snow-covered streets in the middle of nowhere.
