If anyone has read my previous topic "Balto Screening in Florida", you'd probably have remembered that our idea was to have the screening at a library in Clearwater, Florida.

Well, we've had to have other options because the library wasn't only $700 to rent, but we had to have a business reason with paperwork and all that other nonsense.

So I had the most amazing idea last night! Why not try to rent an auditorium at the Cineplex in Universal Studios? It's located at City Walk, and there is no entrance fee because it's right outside both the Universal and Islands of Adventure theme parks.

This idea came to me because I've been to Birthday parties and such in the past where we'd rent a movie theater and watch a private screening of a movie. Also, Balto is obviously a Universal movie!

I called Universal Cineplex last night and talked to the manager. He said it is possible to play a DVD for a private screening, but we'd need the equipment to set it up to the projector. But he ALSO said that if we had the 35mm film of the movie, they could provide the projector and such for free.

It was cool, he obviously knew the film and said "Well, since it IS a Universal movie.."

Also, he needs to know how many people are going to show up. I said this is still trying to be figured out, but I took a wild guess at 50 people or less. >.>

It may be possible for me to get my hands on the 35mm film (if I'm lucky), because I have MCA Universal's operator number which can transfer me to someone who could hook me up. xD

The plan is to move the date for our fan screening to December 20th this year. I'm still not sure if this would work during winter/holidays, but we really do want an anniversary feeling for Balto.

Also, I'm not exactly sure how much it will all cost just yet...but I'm sure it's alot.

So donations are appreciated, and since I came up with this idea and I live about 20 minutes from Universal Studios, I'll try to drag a friend with me to get video footage of City Walk and the Cineplex located there.

Sounds like you've really got everything going well, hope you can sort it out and get enough people around where you live to join you. Sadly I live in England so no screening for me :<

That's awesome. Orlando's only a few hours from me, but I probably won't be coming. It's awesome that this is happening though.

This is a good idea, I know most of the visitors would like to participate. The only problem is that very few will be able to, because few of us lives there.
I still regrets not seeing it in theaters.

There is a chance that I'll come see this, but only a very small chance. 5% at the highest. Depends on whether I have a break from college over the summer, when the break is, and if I happen to be anywhere near there.

well, now i probably wont be able to come, i had posted that i only lived about 15 minutes away from clearwater, but i live about one hour and thirty minutes away from orlando. stupid gas prices....
