Alright.. I have had some time to think about this and I have to say that I think the number one issue surrounding the release date for this film was the closing of the company that wrote, animated, produced it and tremendous amount of employees who were deemed to promote it that likely lost their jobs and Universal never really trying to put any real serious emphasis on promoting the film worldwide and as I see it just effectively tossing it aside and just forgetting about it for a few years is probably why it never did as well as it should have and never gained the popularity it did, that along with horrid release timing and bad promotional planning are most likely the big things that drove it straight into the ground...

Anyways.. I'm going to end this rant here and ask for your honest opinions on the matter now..

this is referring to the first film actually and how not doing well kinda screwed over the entire series. I'm a HUGE fan and I just thought I'd share my thoughts on this..

All true, a post similar to this is already listed on the Balto source boards somewhere but yeah it was basically down to advertising and release date

I'm pretty sure it was Steet who made a topic like this a while ago but I can't find it.

I also agree that those were the reasons for Balto's failed success, it's a shame coz Balto 1 could've been hugely popular if it had been promoted properly and released at a better time.

Balto was very unlucky because it was released at the same time with Toy Story.

That's not "luck" of any kind, it's bad decisions. The producers would have known Toy Story was being released at that time but released Balto at the same time anyway.

It's only "unlucky" for fans now who want a special edition and who would've preferred beter sequels.

And we're all fans,ain't we?

And what has that quote got to do with what I said?

You were reffering to the film being unlucky and I stated why it wasn't the film but the fans.
