In Balto 1 Balto is smaller than most of the dogs. In real life Balto is about the same size as the others. Plus, shouldn't he be bigger since he's part wolf?

i said yeah he and star were both rather small compared to the others i no they wanted to make him seem small and weak compared to steel but he could have at least been kaltag's size. but maybe his father was small after all no1 no him not even balto its seems "My mom was a wolf who had pups with a husky" something along those lines is what he says in the secound film.

Nope, he looks good the way he is.

He's only VERY loosly based on the actual Balto and you forget that in animated films they use things like size to show the personality of the characters.

Balto was shy and pushed about by the other dogs, that obviously wouldn't work if Balto was bigger than the other dogs.

Also, if you pay attention, only Steele is bigger than Balto and possibly Sylvie, he's about the same size as the other dogs.

I noticed too that he is somewhat small or rather medium size i do say so myself.But he could be alittle bigger though

Balto, was considerd a scrub dog. Not worthy of much. Unlike Togo, Balto was bigger in size.

Well of course Balto had to be smaller since he was the 'outcast' of the movie. But yes, the real Balto was the normal size of an average Husky dog.

As far as the size of the real Balto goes.....in connection with the dog team appearing at an event in Los Angeles near the start of the nationwide tour, a local newspaper noted that "Balto is one of the smaller dogs in the outfit."

When the remaining seven dogs arrived in Cleveland almost two years later, a local paper reported that "Three of the seven are larger than Balto."

Several photos of the dogs taken during that time period support what the newspaper articles said.
