Animation Source Forums

I have to admit, I'm pretty surprised that there hasn't been a thread involving the McCaffreys' universe - created by Anne McCaffrey and continued by Todd McCaffrey - starting out originally in the 1960s - but that universe is still expanding. The Pern universe is one of the first to put dragons in a positive light - dragons who were genetically engineered by settlers to the planet, to defend them against a faceless enemy.

If there's enough interest, I think I might run Pernese-type dragon adoption thinger for members/'sonas.

I've heard about it,but I never read it.

Ah. I first came across it in the late 90s - like 98/99. I think they're also making it into a movie.

I've been planning on reading the series for a while now, but the collection is so BIG!!! I can hardly remember which book is the first. I think it's pretty big they're making a movie on it... Hmm. I've my own library of dragon books, but I suppose the reason why I never really put Anne's books at the top is because it's a bit... overwhelming.

I LOVE this series *hugs it* I have the whole Dragon Riders of Pern series <3 Though I don't know if I like how her son is continuing it. It's just not the same to me =| But I do love how dragons are portrayed in the stories. As life partners. I just think that's so awesome, since I love dragons. Lol.

I want them to make either a movie or tv series on it. I bet it would be popular, animated or not. Of course, it would have to be made by the right people. If they go and ruin another awesome dragon series like they did with Eragon, I'm going to throw a fit.

My dad has had all of them then we moved.

Suka, the first one is Dragonflight It's about Lessa and Ramoth... Hmm. I bet I'd have a queen.

this is the BEST seiries!!!!!!!! i cant get my hands on them fast enough and our local library only has about 3... it's so annoying
