As you know, I am friends with Jack Angel, the voice of Nikki from the original Balto. I asked him and he is willing to answer fans' questions. He actually is a nice guy in real life and you can learn some surprising answers like the voices of the original Balto were recorded in London, United Kingdom. Whoops. Sorry, if you are going to ask a Balto question, ask about the original movie because that is the only Balto movie that he worked on.

did they just keep going on with their lives or did they wait for balto or mabey they stayed and gave jenna comfort about balto?

I'm sorry, but this is the voice actor, the guy who gave the character its voice. I don't think he knows anything about what happened to the characters.

What is your favorite scene in the movie, both in genearal and involving your character Nikki?

do you know if Nikki had any siblings in the movie like in the barn scene while Balto's gone to get the medicine and when Steele comes bk or on his sled team??

If you could have chosen to voice a character other than Nikki, who would you choose?

Would he know anything about what happened with all the original art? The storyboards and hand drawn animations?

Balto was created in London by a company affiliated with Steven Spielberg. I assume all the artwork is there. The name of the company should be in the credits of the film, but I couldn’t tell you off hand what it’s name is.

Who were the other actors in the movie? Did you meet any of the other voice actors in the movie?

Danny Mann, Robby Rist and I worked together since we were the three sled dogs who were the comedy relief.

Frank Welker did most of the wolves but he worked separate from us. I have worked with Frank many other times though in G.I. Joe and the Transformers.

What is your favorite scene in the movie, both in general and involving your character Nikki?

I have no favorite scenes in any of the films I’ve done. In animation, you are handed a script and the director tells you what’s happening so you have some sense of how to emote, but we see the scenes for the first time when we see the finished film.

With the exception of when we loop. That is, when the scenes are already filmed and we go in to add the voice later. But we never know what will hit the cutting room floor.

When we filmed “Artificial Intelligence”, I watched the filming for three months and was amazed at how much never made it into the picture.

Up to now, I never knew about any other movies.

Hello Jack, firstoff let me say thanks for giving us the oppurtunity to ask you questions regarding your involvement in the film Balto and it's been great reading your replies so far.

My question is how long did it take you to find Nikki's voice? I imagine you were given a few concept drawings and the general idea behind Nikki, so did you try out many different voices for him or did you capture the voice early on?

Do you know Nikki's breed?

Nikki looked sort of like a cross between a Husky and a Chow Chow.

Do you have anything in common with Nikki?

Being a voice actor, you have to put a lot of your personality into each character. So Yes.
