Heh, I must agree 100%.

It gets annoying for me coming "from the other side" (as it were) because that's one of the main reasons so many people at the moment are saying "The mods never do anything!" because when you ask those people, they say "Were always telling people not to do things but the mods never ban them for it!!"....uh...hello? How can we if it's not been reported?

We do check the reports regularly and do what is neccesary about what has been reported so please use it!

GASP! I good rant? How is this possible???

-

Pardon that please, I just had to bring attention to the recent poor quality of rants lately. It's nice to see a good one such as this.

Anyways, it's interesting, that a peace-keeping tool like the report button isn't used too often. It could really stop the fights if it was used, and could keep misunderstandings to a quiet level. It would also make things easier for the mods. It also keep things from being dealt with publicly, which could prevent people taking sides and such, ensuring that justice is actually done without third party support/opposition. Bruno, I think you should request that your little tutorial be spread throughout the forum.

Ahem*
Lovely rant staff! I agree with you on this completely. They dont look at this part of the page much, or comply to it, And i think they should, i think one of the mods that comments on the front page of BS. Should put it up on there for people to see, maybe they would take the time to actually use it then.

Alright, I do have something worthwhile to rant about, finally.

I cannot tell you how many times I've gone into a box (regardless of what box it is) and watch people tell others to not do this or that, because it is against the rules. That does not bother me (I do it all the time, just little reminders about talking in the RP box or whatever).

The one thing I am getting sick of seeing is, when someone fails to comply or listen, the other person jumps on them. If they do not comply, do not freaking start an argument over it! Use the REPORT BUTTON! Is it, honestly, that difficult to enter a name (on a pop down menu, nonetheless) and a reason of why you are reporting them? I use it, it takes maybe 10 or 15 seconds to fill it out, and contrary to population belief, it DOES work.

Now, here are some screen caps to help show you how to USE the button:

Dude, you really rant a lot ^_^

On to a more serious note; this has annoyed me as well, and if I had been the one to tell people about how they use the report feature... well, let's just say they would look like they'd been in a tornado for a couple of hours

Anyway, I agree 100%. And plus for a good rant, unlike most of the rants on this board.

I agree with you.
These "report" buttons and "report links" aren't hard to find either. They are more or less all over the place. It is also easy to find out because many members report regularly and make sure everyone hears it when they do so.
People just like finding complaints about moderators without a justification. Since this is an online community, it is easy for them to do so and have others chime in.
