I just have this thing stuck in my head. After Balto arrived with the medicine, and after he gave Rosie her real musher's hat, and right after he touched noses with Jenna people outside the hospital started cheering. What were they doing outside the hospital? Wouldn't they want to see their children well. After thinking this through I thought maybe their children died .(like in the true story, some children die.)What do you think?

Not all of them would've had kids. My guess is that the 20 or so people who had kids with diphtheria were actually inside the hospital.

Yeah it was quarantened, even if the adults couldn't catch it I very much doubt they'd be allowed inside whilst the sick children were being treated, only doctors, nurses and parents would be allowed inside and the rest were outside cause that was where the sled with the medicine pulled up to

Yeah, some kids DID die. But yeah, probably only medical staff would be allowed in the hospital.

Mot all the people have kids in the crowd they were probably waiting for the perfect momment Balto can't cure all the children at the hospital in the movie i only saw 3 or 4 kids in the hospital
