A fanfic I've just come up with. ^^ Hmmm, I'm not sure if PG-13 is the best rating, but, that's what I think.

--------------------------

Full. The moon always seems to be full whenever night falls in where I live. All those optomistic creatures define it, white as snow. I'd attack them anytime they mention that. Snow isn't white. It's gray. It becomes yellow. It gets dirty whenever the ground touches it. It melts. Freezes. Numbs. Kills.

I like the place where I live, personally. Many outsiders say that a death sentence is wished to those who live here. Nights come early. Tall, strong trees cover most of the floor, pine trees, mostly. Rivers abund, big and strong. They easily take away anyone who dares try and swim in deep waters. Take them away... and throw them off a waterfall. Only the strong survive. Even if they do, their wounds are bound to attract any creature who seaks food. Many animals live here. Bears, Caribou and bison, Mountain goats, cougars, lynx, hawks, mice, insects, wolves. Many are carnivours. Which is why the smell of death can always be near, mixing itself with the humid smell that often rains cause.

Child is often taken. Many take care of themselves, and only allow mercy during mating season. They are cautious, weak or strong fogs blinding them as they linger around. The only one that someone might trust, could be their mother. I only trust her. I remember her...

A dark brown wolf wandered around that night. I remember lyngering around there. The wind craddled me. The yellow half moon often called to those magestic and enormous black clouds. She asked for them to cover her. Cover her in her beauty. I stared at it. And, being practically part of the wind, I moved the clouds toward her. That was when I saw the wolf. She was alone, camoflauging herself between the trees that shaded her. Her usual silver eyes were alert, and any animal with scent knew she was in heat.

I wondered why she walked aroud this dangerous place. She knew well that one was at risk. Still, here she was. As I began dancing around her, making her fur twirl as the wind messed around, I knew at once that she was in danger. I stopped, staring at what was in front of me. A black wolf, he stood still in front of her, a weak fog forming. He had his eyes closed, as if thinking. His nose often twitched, signaling what he knew about her.

She stared, her heart beating a little faster. I could hear it. Her silver eyes stared. Blue was on the edge of her iris. As she gulped, opening her eyes once more, he had disappeared. " Was it an ilusion?" I heard her think as she searched. Her answer was given when she saw him again. I knew he was the same, but he seemed white. " Am I in pack's territory?" I heard her think once more.

The wolf opened his eyes, revealig red. I knew of her stepping backwards, her muscles tense, knowing her tiny body was no match for such an enormous wolf like him. She wanted to run, but her body would not move. As she stared more into his eyes, they seemed to trance her. Hers immediatly turning the same crimson red as his. He kept staring, but I knew he was saying, 'come forward'. The female seemed to obey, clearly having lost consience of what was happening. He soon walked toward her, circling her. She only stayed in place, like a soldier. I read his thoughts, and knew that he wasn't a normal wolf. More of a dark spirit.

As she kept staring blankly into nothing, he soon aproached her, his white coat turning into a stunning grey. This still gave no reaction to her. He had stepped out of moon's light, and was walking towards her, a female of same species, in heat, analising her, staring at her with sick thoughts. I could not believe what happened then, but the wind started to move, as he soon mounted her.

He seemed to only pulverise after time, something calling him. I knew that this spirit had passed on. It's existence had disappeared. I still stared at her, wondering what was to become of her, but she only walked on, as if nothing. I acompanied her, reading her thoughts. Her entire life was destroyed. It disappeared along with that spirit. Different, false memories began to fill her head, but one question still haunted me. Would this night be remembered? As I followed her, I felt myself being sucked. Her eyes had become hidden as they returned to their silver color, but I fell into unconsiousness. I recall the last thing feeling was the warm presence of the beautiful dark brown wolf surrounding me.

Thank you. ^^ Here comes more!

-----------------------

Morning came as the brownish wolf walked by, clearly tired and covered in mud. As she aproached a den, a large chestnut, cream and black wolf walked up to her, worried.

" Thank the spirits you're alright, Cheryl." He nuzzled against, his tail wagging as he was happy to sniff her scent once more.

" I'm fine." Cheryl answered, closing her eyes to rest a bit. " Just got a bit stuck in some mud, but because I tried to get out in such a hurry, I exhausted myself by the time I was able to get out." She sighed.

Soon enough, six pairs of tiny paws came running as puppies came running out of the den, anxious to meet their mother. As all of them ran up to her, jumping up and down squealing things like 'Mama!' 'How come you didn't come home?' 'What's mud?' 'Was it scawy at night?'. She smiled warmly, and soon enough began walking to her home, exhausted and dirty. On the way the pups followed, one of them managing to nip her stomach. In reaction she jumped a bit, before scolding her pup to not repeat that.

" Mummy doesn't like getting her stomach bitten." She smiled.

" You know how mother feels about that." Called the larger wolf as he followed.

******************

I remember when I was surrounded by the female's warmth, a tiny bump was given. I would've yelped, but coudn't find my voice at that moment. Still, I wanted to know what had I done for that to happen. Maybe someone held a grudge against me.

*******************

... " I've been thinking, Apollo."

The large male lifted his head to his mate. As she stared at him with those lovely silver eyes she always had, he wondered what she wanted. But silence was soon broken as she answered.

" Could we... maybe, have, another litter?" Apollo stayed still, although pretty surprised.

" But our own pups are not even a year old. And..." He paused. It was only by mercy that the spirits had blessed them with puppies, for many other tries had failed. Cheryl was beautiful, she had the personality, but it was very sure that she was barren. As he looked up at her, she held that sad yet adorable look, that no matter how she aged, would always keep. The tricolor wolf sighed, soon mumbling.

" We'll see once the pups are old enough." He answered, staring at her with his golden eyes, sweetly, yet kindly.

As days passed, Cheryl kept begging her mate for more puppies. The mud had eventually washed off, but Apollo still was sure some kind of weak scent lingered around in the air. It made him uncomfortable. Soon enough his mind was filled with the thought of pups.

Cheryl and her pups were walking by the light of the moon, with Apollo from behind. He was soon caught by a demon like trap, bringing him closer and closer. As Cheryl panicked, her already born pups were instantly killed, having three or more holes in their head. Scared and broken hearted, she was put out of her misery, having her stomach ripped apart, the pups came out slowly, laughing evily and with a hush. As he realized he was bleeding, they soon enough covered the moon with his blood, before killing him slowly.

*thinking* Two viewers! Now, just keep going, and soon enough people will be pouring in! :twisted: O.o Did I think that out loud? XD X3 Here comes more!

---------------------------

Waking up from yet another nightmare, Apollo panted, looking around with his eyes wide open. He was very scared from yet another nightmare he was having. Suddenly feeling something against his skin, he turned in reaction, only to see Cheryl putting her head against his chest. She smiled as she enjoyed her mate's soft fur.

Sighing, he picked her head with his muzzle, and carefully placed it on the ground. Standing up, he exited the den, sitting down to calm down and think for a bit.

" What do I tell her? Cheryl, I'm sorry. We can't have pups because of these dreams and I'd hate to endanger you." Apollo sighed. It was easy for him to say that, but he had promised Cheryl that he'd be more considerate, and stopped being the cruel, cold hearted wolf she had soften. Even so, he couldn't stand to see those eyes cry.

But, still. He knew that he had to tell her. One way or another.

*********************

As morning came, everything seemed so lovely. As Apollo and Cheyl walked out of the den, both of them enjoyed the sight they were to have on their hunt.

When walking through the forest, it seemed so nice, probably because it had rained in early morning since the grass and spikey pines of trees were wet, and the humid scent was still in the air. Cheryl couldn't help but be amazed, happy at the beautiful yet rare view they had the chance to see.

The sunshine from the sun gave of a beautiful reflect. The warm wet feeling was so comfortable for one's paw pads, you couldn't help but enjoy it. Apollo found a bit childish how Cheryl was so intrigued and fascinated by all of it, but he was happy for all of it. Such mornings were unique to these woods, which would be why one would continue in life, so it would be durable.

" The wind is so calm." Cheryl took him out of his trance. " It's all fuzzy and calm. Just makes you wanna close your eyes, feel the freedom it gives you whenever it comes. You could think you were flying, see such marvelous view of this place, and when the wind hits you, you'd only day dream about it, as if it were real."

Apollo stared at his mate with a warm smile. This was another of her beautiful features. One that you could love, and enjoy every moment of her if ever having the chance to meet such a lady like Cheryl. He was happy to have her as his mate, and stared at her silvery blueish eyes. So lively, and happy.

" I've been wondering." Apollo blurted out. " I thinking pups are..." He stared at those eyes. " Such magnificent eyes. I can't stand to break them. I can't stand to fill them with tears." He lowered his head, looking towards the ground.

" not a good idea." He continued. " It's not that I don't want to. These dreams. I keep dreaming that, something bad will happen. I don't want to endanger you, Cheryl."

" I-I understand." He looked up at her. She nuzzled him, and the larger wolf felt relieved. But, throughout the rest of the hunt, the she-wolf was quiet, only talking when necesary.

That night, Apollo slept tranquily, but still woke up. He looked around. It was dark, because the large clouds covered the moon. As he focused his vision, he gasped when he saw he was on top of his mate. Scurrying to the other side, he did his best to sleep, wondering of the complications that might happen if...

... *thinking* What to say?

-----------------------------

A couple of weeks past ever since that incident. Cheryl's stomach was getting a bit larger, but it wasn't noticeable. The pups kept growing, and they knew that soon enough the day would come where the blood of prey would stain their own muzzles. They'd feel the excitement of running through the woods along with their parents and siblings, on the chase after a small doe, their paw pads flying silently through every bark of tree. They would jump over the logs that the forest put in their way. Their teeth would sink and rip apart the carcaus of an animal, only for the oportunity to satisfy their appetite and keep the range number of animals in order.

When that day came, a large fog covered the forest. A deathly silence was at stake, for no one was safe. Predators became prey, and you weren't sure which you could become. As Apollo and Cheryl walked through the silence, their own pups followed closely, not being able to see much. Soon enough they were able to sense a herd nearby, and listening closely, the plan that they were to do came to follow.

Every single wolf got into position, knowing that the deer had sensed them, and were high on alert, knowing that one of their kind probably was too be taken this moment. Adrenaline rushed through every single canines blood. Crows nearby scattered, flying as high as they could from this certain place. Soon enough, two of the young began running towards them, and halfway they realized this, beginning to run together, hoping that this was an unsuccesful hunt. As they ran towards the others, these wolves popped out also, snarling and growling at them. The leaders of the rampage could easily see the baring fangs these held, and turned into another direction, completly clueless to the fact that they were being directed.

Once more others popped out, only these two where much bigger than the others. Now getting the message, the herd began to scramble, unsure of what to do. The adults aimed immediatly for a seperated fawn, but were tempted to pursure the mother. Distracted, a buck ran immediatly for them, unfortunantly not being able to ram into one. As they once more regained control, the herd had already left, dissapearing inside the fog that surrouned them.

Nearby one could hear a bear grunt, and deciding that it was enough for one day, the adults hurried the exhausted pups to their den, luckily getting away before it could track their scent. As Apollo tried fishing for some food in a nearby river, Cheryl kept congratulating her pups, telling them how much of a wonderful job they did, even though the hunt was unsuccesful.

Apollo returned without any food, but none minded. They were used to not eating some days, so for the whole family, it was no problem. The later day, the now weak fog lingered around the forest, but one could see the black clouds that covered the sky, meaning that it was soon to rain intensly.

Pups once more walked around with their parents, hoping to maybe find some food or track down the herd that had run away. Afternoon came sooner than they thought, but home being so far away, the parents had to rest under the dark shade of some pine trees. As they rested, Cheryl was soon wondering what had made the pups so curious, that made them wag their tails and bark. Walking over to them, she saw that they had found a black bird, who apparently had no fear.

" Mama, we found a crow!"

" So it seems." She answered to one of them.

" Why doesn't he fly away?" Another puppy asked. His mother only responded that she had no clue. As he looked back to the bird, he realized a shiny blue tint that it had to it's feathers.

" Mama, why is it shining blue?" He asked once more. " You know," She started, amazed at the bird. " Ravens are known to have that shine." He stared at her in amaze.

" Can they shine any other color?" He wanted know. "Well, they can also shine purple." However, their conversation was interrupted by a caw from the bird, and the dark brown she-wolf wanted to smile as she felt a small movement in her stomach.

" So it's a raven." Apollo muttered, watching from afar.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" I remember a caw of sort. Although it was sudden, it didn't scare me. I wanted to hear it again for some reason, for I found it fascinated."
Thank you ^^
-----------------
The night was strangely warm, yet you could still recieve a chill from such a strong wind that lingered around. Everything was dark, and silent. With only moon's light to guide you, one wouldn't survive with some animals that still wandered around that night. That night in a small den, buried in a small place between two trees, a dark brown she-wolf stared outside, rest not finding her that time.
Her mind wandered about the movement in her stomach.
" Would Apollo accept this litter?" She asked herself. " Or is he willing to kill or abandon them when they are born?" She wanted to bury her face in her paws.
" Up so late?" Cheryl lifted her head and turned around, only to see her mate and soon relax.
" I can't sleep." The wolfess answered.
" What is your mind on?" The chestnut, black and cream wolf asked.
" Memories... of the past." She answered, nuzzling her mate as he layed down by her side.
" I see." He sighed. " Remember when we first met?" He turned to look at her. Cheryl answered nothing as she waited for him to continue.
" Your brother," He continued. " he was protective of you, and didn't want us to meet each other, but we sneeked out at night."
" And we'd talk for hours." Cheryl added, a bit nervous.
" Yeah, and then he fell in love with my smaller cousin, but both of us became protective." He chuckled.
" Then we decided to make a deal." Apollo added.
" But it didn't really matter, 'cause the four of us would sneak out to talk." Cheryl said. Apollo stared blankly at his mate, confused and a bit angry.
" Oh. I forgot, I promised that'd be a secret." She giggled, covering it up.
" So he was sneaking out too?" Apollo asked, and received a nod as an answer.
" Then we became mates. Remember when they had pups?" Apollo was surprised once more.
" When did they have pups?" Cheryl froze. " WW-Well, you know. They didn't survive but, they're still trying." She smiled.... a bit.
" Oh. I'm sorry for them. Do you remember their reaction to when we'd have pups?" Cheryl smiled and nodded.
" I still remember when they'd move around in my womb, give little kicks and such." There was a pause, a large pause. You could hear some hoots outside, and chirping from crickets.
" Apollo."
" Hmm?"
" I-I.... She stayed quiet for a moment. " I think I'm pregnant."
Thank you. ^^
-------------------------
All puppies bounced around in the den that morning, more playful than usual. Cheryl smiled as she layed a bit far from them, watching them frolick around. Tired, she yawned and layed her head down on the small leaves and brands of grass in the den. She rolled her silverish blue eyes to another place, thinking on many option on where Apollo could've been.
She hadn't remembered much of last night. It began to blur right after she'd declare Apollo the news. However, her day dream was interrupted by a small pinch on her stomach, making the inside flinch and move around a bit. Turning around, she'd come to see one of her pups, who was smiling at her. She stared, unsure of what to respond. Surely, that little grin on the girl meant, mama,-come-and-play-with-my-siblings-and-me. Her gold eyes seem to whisper it too.
" Uh... N-not now, sweety. Mommy feels a little sick." The pup meerly shrugged, padding her way to rough house some more with the others.
Cheryl stood up slightly, for right after her moment, she began feeling a little woosy, maybe nauseaous. Catching herself before falling, she walked outside for a moment, and began trotting away a bit. Surely, she needed a walk, and the pups could handle a moment by themselves. The dark brown wolf groaned a bit. Any moment now she could have an upchuck, and preferred it to be as far away as possible from the den. The strong scent could bring any type of animal, and with a pregnant mother and some pups in the den, injury was bound to take place.
" If not... any-killing." The concerned she-wolf thought.
As she kept walking, she could feel something, minor, at least, coming. Searching around, she hoped in this humid forest there would be a good place where the scent could be covered. Starting to feel a little dizzy, she quickly ran to a nearby bush and began digging as far as she could.
A small bird chirped as he enjoyed a little nut he had been able to found, finally able to crack it open. As it enjoyed the nice taste he wanted for a small time now, right in the middle of his food, the small bluebird turned around, hearing someone making a bit of a... upchucking sound. Sticking his tongue out in a gagging matter, the little bird quickly grabbed his food and flew to another place, before the scent could've reached him.
Cheryl groaned as she recuperated, shaking her head a bit, making sure not to nauseate her again. Sighing in relief, she quickly turned around and began lifting dirt into the filled hole, hoping to cover it all. After a while, the sickening smell had almost disappeared, and the tricolored wolf made sure no one was following her as she head back to the den, her memory now refreshing on the events of last night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Apollo stared at his mate while she'd finished the last words. Shock written all over his face. He turned around, his fur messing up a bit, still drinking in one new all-too-important fact. Cheryl kept looking at him, her face clearly red, and she was sticking out her tongue a bit.

Both of the wolves were nervous, unsure of what to say or how to react, and could feel each other having the same troubles. Apollo gulped, deciding to take the first word. He'd hope he could do well, and took in a deep breath.

" Very well."

Cheryl turned back to stare at the large wolf. Her eyes sparkled with hope, and she began calming down, although still tense.

" Apollo." She started. " Thank you for being understanding." As far as everything went, he didn't panic, he didn't react negatively, though something was bound to happen, she felt relieved it wouldn't be that way.

" Are you sure you're pregnant?"

Or not.

" Um... yes." Cheryl answered, tensing up once more. To her surprise, however, Apollo sighed.

" No wonder you seemed so nervous." He chuckled. " It isn't your nature to reveal secrets." He turned to look at her. " I was beginning to think you were hiding a murder from me or something."

Cheryl smiled, and nuzzled her mate.

" Everything will be okay now, right? All those nightmares must've meant the opposite, right?" Apollo tried reassuring himself. However, no matter how much he tried, the wolf couldn't seem to get one question out from his head.

" Who will be their adoptive parents?"

^^ Thanks. I'm trying my best. *cough* Does anyone notice something or, rather, someone familiar? :shock:

PS. Careful. Words will be harsher in this, uh.... chapter.

-----------------------------------

The three pups played around, barking and yapping as they wrestled. Apollo smiled as he watched the bundles. He loved them so much, and had calmed down since his mate's confession. " Speaking of Cheryl" Soon enough the tricolored she-wolf returned, a small fawn in her muzzle, her grayish blue eyes sparkling.

The larger wolf stood up, starting to trot over to eat with his new family, along with the one year old pups who had grown much more now. However, he was suddenly interrupted when a different wolf walked in. He was slightly larger than Apollo, although there was still a noticeable difference between them. His eyes were red, and his coat was silky, although, for some reason, he didn't know what solid color the wolf was, because he kept changing along with light volume.

Thinking his family was in danger, he quickly lunged, but seemed to miss. However, time seemed to suddenly stop along as the family ate, and the cream, chestnut and black wolf lifted his head, suddenly confused at this, and at how he was actually able to move. What took him by surprise however, was that the unknown wolf also lifted his head.

Smirking, he walked towards Apollo.

" Feeling a little light headed Apollo?" The wolf hissed. His voice was strong and metalic, every single word you could just, drink in and it alone leave a scar in your mind.

But now that he had mentioned it, Apollo did feel somewhat dizzy. He steadied himself and shook his head, cursing silently for actually listening to the stranger.

" Who the h**l are you? And how do you know my name?" He spat back.

" Watch your mouth, b*****rd. Nobody likes me irritated." The wolf only smirked.

That was it. He was officially toying with him. Apollo bared his teeth in a rather vicious way, his lips curving up to actually show his gums. He lunged all of a sudden, but only landed with a groan, the dizziness turning into a headache.

" You're an idiot, Apollo." The wolf started, walking over to the frozen female wolf, brushing the tip of his silky tail over her chin. " You're vanishing and yet, you dare attack any other person."

Apollo was about to kill the guy for actually touching his mate, but his attention was more on what he meant with vanishing. As much as he begged himself, he disobeyed and turned down to look at himself. It was true. The wolf was turning transparent, and he began to panic, but soon the serpent like voice grabbed his ears once more.

" Just think, you were never really her mate." His heart sunk, and he cursed even more for paying attention. " Those pups aren't yours, Apollo. Not literally."

" Wha- What do you mean with that?" His concience had left him by now, and as he dissapeared even more, his eyes kept fading to emptier.

" Do you really think the guardian spirits" He spat the last words with disgust. " Would make Cheryl fertil after they decided she wouldn't be?"

Apollo faded more.

" I had to interfear." The wolf added. " I made her pregnant. In a sense." He smirked. " See those pups?" He turned his muzzle to the recent newborns, and Apollo followed his gaze.

" Now those, are literally mine. This time Cheryl's pregnancy had nothing to do with you."

Apollo scrunged. " B*****d." Was all he could say, but he was cursing his mate as well in his mind. Evil little giggles had now entered the conversation, and one pup was walking towards the two wolves. The others, however, were now lying dead. Including the other recent wolf cubs. They were turning against them, but all knew it was pup's fault.

Upon seeing this, all hope had gone from the large tricolored he-wolf had gone from his soul, and he dissapeared completally.

A large gasp rang throughout the den as Apollo woke up from his nightmare. He was surely scarred for life with that one, and laid his head on the floor, his decision made up.

" Those pups will either be up for adoption, or the better part, killed. And nothing Cheryl says will stop me. It's for our family's safety."

------------------------------------

Uh Oh. Is Apollo overreacting and being overprotective, or is this dream really a warning?

As I promised, here is my detailed opinion.

Your story is based on a creative concept, and I will give you plus for that. You've managed to turn it into something that is unique to this genre, and you have also managed to do so tastefully. This is a rare trait, as many people fail to realize the importance of the story build, and not just the story as a whole.
I like the story so far, it seems to have potential to it. It is good, you are writing this in a great fashion, thus enhancing my enjoyment of it. However, there is this little something that seems strange to me. It is not the fiction itself, but I feel it lacks the fine touch of the writer. A fiction, regardless of the story, is nothing without the writer. The readers need to read it, and they need to feel how the writer engages into the piece and becomes a part of it. As a writer, you need to put your heart and soul into your works and really really work hard on them, improving every little bit you find in need of it, fine tuning, etc.
That was what I felt as I read; the lack of engagement by the writer. From where I am sitting, I read a lot of text with a story that has a great potential, but lacks the part that makes the fiction come alive, that can only be done by the writer.

Regardless, I would also like to put some of my thoughts about the somewhat descriptive violence, and half-descriptive sexual engagement.
First off, there is a lot of focus on mates, pups, and feelings. Which is good, as this needs to be represented somewhat more. However, I feel you have failed to do these parts tastefully, although the bad language and sex scene and the violence were the only parts of it I think that about. The problem here is that there is a lot of blood in some of the scenes described in the fiction, and there is too much talk about killing (I do not know if you intended it this way or not, but this is what I felt). I can not quite sit back and enjoy your story as much as I wanted to do because - I say this again - the story has potential to become great.
I do feel, however, that the sex scene was much too descriptive and suggesting. Just having "He mounted her." would be more than enough =)

Other than that, your grammar could use some work, and so could your spelling. Nonetheless, this is a great piece of fiction, and I hope you will complete it.

Thank you. I try hard and make the scene rather different. It seems description is rather hard these days, but I don't want to make them rather long, and actually make it boring, therefore have the reader pass it up and possibly miss some interesting things on the story. (An error I commit too common) As for that scene, I have hopes of never, ever, ever, having to do it again, but then, I did give a warning. And lately, I've had less inspiration, therefore, something everyone dreads, a disease commonly known as... writer's block. :) But, I have no intention of abandoning my work. Oh dear no! I can't tell you how many times it can get annoying when some author leaves a story half completed. (And right where it gets on the good part, too!)
