I think steet should block right clicking in profiles! Because then no one will be able to steal pics! Example: Someon goes into the profile and right clicks and then someting pops up and tells them that they can't right click! But if steet has to go around doing this to every single profile on this site, then it probably wouldn't be such a good idea. But I saw someone with an avatar stolen from another profile. I know that it was stolen because the artist told me that the person had her picture as his avvie. And plus the stolen pic was in the artist profile! And then another reason why this should be fixed: Someone had a picture that somone else made in her/his profile and that picture was in the artist profile.

So do you think this should stop? I'd like your opinion.

Blocking right clicking really does sound like a good idea to me,I also think it should be blocked.

I think stealing pics in general is a bad idea... I mean most of the pics in the profiles are already stolen... And that's against site rules.

Yeah but the people who haven't stolen pics, like me, wouldn't like it if some idiotic theif happened to come along and take our stuff.

I think we need to work on getting rid of the art theft in profiles before we start doing anything else.

Maybe, but who knows how many profiles on this site are full of stolen art work. I'm not just worried about my stuff, I'm worried about other members' art as well. I don't have art in my profile otherwise I'd put it on the site I just have images that I took from my computer and painted over in PS.

Same here! Thats why I wrote Tsumeato (C) to Tsumeato {Wolf 'Fang'} and Chiru (C) to Tsumeato {Wolf 'fang'} and Kiba (C) to Tsumeato {Wolf 'Fang'} on the images of the wolf forms and human forms. But I'm not talking about the Kiba from Wolf's Rain, I'm talking about my Kiba just so no one says "HEY KIBA IS (C) TO STUDIO BONES!!!!!"

Look, you cannot use copyrighted material, be it art from another artist or paint-over official images/screencaps on your profiles to begin with, because once it is on your profile, you claim it as your own. It's against the law.

OK, screw me! I'm really pissed with myself! Here I am trying to stop art thieft when I might become one myself without knowing!! Alright. I edited the pics but I don't have the "(C) to" crap written on it.

Yeah, that's a step in the right direction, Tsumeato. But you really gotta be careful when you're dealing with stuff like that. I think the best way to go would be to have official BS/TLKS MSpaint friendly linearts free-for-Animation Source-use that people can use for char designs for the profiles. Just dunno how to do that. We also need more access to information on copyright laws.

I agree. I really had no idea that that was against the laws.. otherwise I really wouldn't have done it.

I figure most people don't, but when you use official stuff like that, odds are you'll get into way more trouble than you would by ripping off a random artist from dA - not that you should do that either.

Yes, that's what I was going to say : most of the pictures on profiles are already pics "stolen" from other websites, and used without permission. So preventing stolen pics to be stolen...Errr...
But, yes, not everyone is in that case, so I will add something to prevent right click. Besides, there's no need to spread these stolen pictures even more.
Also, I will add a warning so that everyone knows it.


Could be an idea. Most visitors probably wouldn't use pictures without permissions if they could gain access to free pictures they're allowed to use.
I'm wondering how it could work. Maybe I could start a project with something like this, then all the pictures sent would be offered in a "free" library. What do you think of the idea?

I like that idea ^^ It would certainly help with new people wanting to show their characters.
