I agree. I can't explain how annoyed I feel when I see posts and quotes aimed directly at one person. Especilly in the Rant Board -.-

This "Rant Board" is for disscussing thing about the SITE. Somthing that will get solved. There where rants on rants about mates talks. What happened. Mates were banned. Solved.
But now, it all rants aimed at direct people. So and so shouldn't of been banned. A horrible mod banned my friend. *Named quote* How wrong is this person  !?

Seriously, I thought people were more mature than that.

Alrighty Animation Source members. Here's the diddly-do.

What has Maj seen when skittering across the boards? Many fun innocent topics, but some aren't that fun.
Some, are even hurtful. Downright awful and could hurt some feelings. You KNOW who its directed at its so BLATANTLY OBVIOUS. And I'VE even found posts that are directed to others who I know.

This is, I swear, harassment of some kind. We've even seen rants that sort of bash people directly through quotes! These are HARMLESS FUN LITTLE TOPICS.

We're not just text, we're not just machines behind these text walls and computer monitors. We're living breathing people who have hearts and feelings, watch how you word your posts! Watch what you put IN your post. Stop quoting people just to bash the smudge out of them.

Its rude, its hurtful, its just not /right/. What compels you do to such things? Do you WANT to hurt these people behind these screens? I sure don't. Stop it. Its not cool, its not fun.

There. My little do-dad of a rant,

-Maj

Well, you see, we're living, breathing things behind text walls and computer monitors. Text communication can be taken in different ways. But, for the intentionally vulgar remarks, there's not a whole lot that can be done.
I could name a few times when I typed something and, because it's text and not word of mouth, it can be taken in different ways. Take sarcasm, for example.

The public quoting thing is bad, I agree with you there. If people have problems with one or two people, it should be taken elsewhere, and dealt with privately. Keep direct quotes private, and if they contain obscene material, contact a moderator or something.

I see your point Majalo, but you're going to have to come to some compromise and not let the vulgar words get to you. Because there's as much of it offline as there is online. It's easier said then done, but just try to not let what they say get to you. This is slightly off-topic, but it's just the world we live in today. I'm not happy about it, and I sure many others aren't. Just let the vulgar remarks slide and don't allow them any more attention than they deserve.

Who said there were vulgar words? And they don't get to me, its just this is a children's site, and playing childish revenge games are just out of line.
My point is that even if we ARE behind a computer screen, even if we don't know each other face to face we could at least have some manners and act like the people we need to be in this world. Aka: Kind, polite, etc etc. under normal circumstances that is. Anger for a just reason is fine by me, and a friendly debate does no harm. Though getting all huffy over a video game or a forum post(Example: Oh this is stupid. Well ur stupid! -insert subject topic here- ROCKS) maybe even a movie argument (For example: Balto 2 rocks! Balto 2 SUCKS!) is just immature and unneeded. Respecting other people's opinions and thoughts is a big part of being kind everywhere, others think that just because they can hide behind a screen name makes it perfectly 'OK' to cause a ruckus.

I don't understand your logic about "hiding or being behind a computer screen". It's irrelevant, actually, because people will talk that way anyway.

"[insert subject] sucks!!" comments do irritate me, because if that's the whole post, they haven't provided reasoning.

Some of it could be the age immaturity of the community here. (Referring to the 10 year olds or younger) And comments like that might seem perfectly justified in their perception. That really can't be helped, because it is a forum tailored to the younger crowd.

On the other hand, the people-who-are-immature-just-to-be-annoying, those people are the ones that get to me.

Alas though. It's the world today.

Since i havnt been on this forum for some time now, i havnt seen any posts like this. But I am sure there are tuns, why they do it i have no idea. Maybe its to look cool and show off, HA dont make me laugh, people who do that just look plain retarded.

I cant see how we can stop them, only to warn and report. Then it would be up to the mods and steet to determine what to do about it. Maybe its not out of hand yet to take any action upon it, but it still dosnt give people a right to go off and do what they have been doing anyways.
