I've played Super Monkey Ball, Super Monkey Ball 2, Super Monkey Ball Jr., and Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz.
The first one was a good introduction, and the second one was a very nice improvement, the best one in the series I think. Banana Blitz isn't as good. The core of the game is there, improved by the Wii remote ability of motion sensing, some aspects of the game are overdone. They've added a jumping ability that seems useless because most of the levels can be beaten without using it. The only real use for the jumping ability is to hit the bosses' weak spots. While that sounds interesting, Super Monkey Ball isn't a game that should have boss battles.
Super Monkey Ball Jr. for the GBA was just good to have in my opinion. It has the same modes as the first game on the Game Cube but all the levels in it are completely different.
