I voted some of them, although perhaps it should be most of them. Seriously, the only decent animated films I see nowadays come from Pixar. The last decent animated feature Disney released was Bambi 2, and that was DTV midquel, for Pete's sake! I guess I could count Enchanted, but that was mostly live-action.
So yeah, most of the animated movies we have today are totally forgettable. What happened to films like Bambi, The Iron Giant or Balto? These films have something that the stuff today does not have - heart. They showed that you could make a film that appealed to children AND adults, without having to result to toilet humour and pop-culture references. As sad as it is, I can think of at least three Disney sequels I would rather watch than Shark Tale or any other CGI fluff.

Yes, that's exactly it.

as a kid who grew up barly remembering Alvin, Simon, and Thedore i think that the remake was alright ur right it was missing something and could have been much longer, altho tthe orginal was done in the 80's and i was born in 1990 i kno i've heardthe songs just untill this movie i didnt remember where. As for the other films yeah most of them they messed up with the remakes and unnecciary sequals, fox and the hound, bambi, sleeping beauty, cinderella, pocahantas, and any others didnt need a part 2. The lion king didnt need a part 3 or 1/2 as the case is they messed up the story lines and changed our beloved characters into something i grew tired of seeing. Brother Bear didnt need a sequal and walts classics didnt need any either. As for remakes? they thoses out more for the younger childrens entertainment, altho turning our favoriet hand made/painted drawing to life with cg is messed up it makes them look straneg deforemd and ugly pluse the new story line often sux bad

Cobalt is right. 2d movies on good old casettes reminds me about when i was a kid^^ The only studios i think make animation who are good and creative is pixar. Even they are making it in 3d animation. Take disney! Good old disney! Remember snow white, the fox and the hound and lady and the tramp etc.? Ah, that was times! Disney ran a good animations studios-for a while! after the 90`s disneys golden year was over. Disney has lost their creativity and good old style. They are just making sequels now, bad sequels. And when they has made an 2nd movie, they starting on the third. Its ruining the whole first movie who maybe was very good! Its pretty annoying. And yes, i think mostly all plotlines are the same in an animation movie today. An animal who goes an jurney and finds out where it belongs and fells in love. espessially that fell in love part. Its ok as long its not the same love thing everytime. And in a start of a movie everybod are friends, in the middle it starts a fight, and in the end everybody is friends again! Its boring to watch! Now just to make it clear, pixar does not really have anything to do with disney.. "disney "boght them"!! o, this has made me dont like disney anymore. At least not their new movies! Also when they are trying on live action is not good either. And also i agree with canis lupus. If i should choose a disney sequel it should be Bambi 2 because its more like "what happend meamwhile-ish" ,movie. And yes mostly all goood animated movies come from pixar. They have had one seuel to ow and that toy story who the critics said was better than the first one! That must be a good thing! Pixar rocks! And seriously what all the other studios choose to make movies of its bees and a lot of crap the movies has to be kinda weird. It is very annoying!! And it also annoys me that pixar belongs to disney!!! I HATE DISNEY! But i love pixar and disney old movies. I think theres only two things that make disney still popular: Pixar and the good old movie. Tulip there is just one answer here! CREATIVITY IS AN RARE THING TODAY!!!!

I thought there was less animated movies than life action because the most people enjoy the live action mor than the animated films.

Well, animated movies started in force in the late 1930s - with the 1937 release of Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. The Disney classically animated feature-length movie timeline kinda goes like this, info taken from Disney.com and Wikipedia: 1937: Snow White and the Seven Dwarves 1940: Pinocchio1940: Fantasia1941: The Reluctant Dragon1941: Dumbo1942: Bambi1943: Saludos Amigos1945: The Three Caballeros1946: Make Mine Music1946: Song of the South1947: Fun and Fancy Free1948: Melody Time1949: The Adventures of Ichibod and Mr. Toad1950: Cinderella1951: Alice in Wonderland1953: Peter Pan1955: Lady and the Tramp1959: Sleeping Beauty1961: 101 Dalmatians1963: The Sword in the Stone1966: Winnie The Pooh And The Honey Tree (Walt Disney dies of lung cancer) 1967: The Jungle Book1970: The Aristocats1973: Robin Hood1977: The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh1977: The Rescuers1981: The Fox and the Hound1985: The Black Cauldron1986: The Great Mouse Detective1987: The Brave Little Toaster1988: Oliver and Company 1989: The Little Mermaid1990: DuckTales, The Movie: Treasure Of The Lost Lamp1990: The Rescuers Down Under1991: Beauty and the Beast1992: Aladdin1994: The Lion King1994: The Return of Jafar1995: A Goofy Movie1995: Pocahontas1995: Aladdin and the King of Thieves1996: The Hunchback Of Notre Dame 1997: Hercules1997: Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search For Christopher Robin1997: Beauty And The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas1998: Mulan1998: The Lion King II: Simba's Pride1998: The Brave Little Toaster To the Rescue1998: Pocahontas II: Journey To A New World1999: Doug's First Movie1999: Tarzan1999: Belle's Tales Of Friendship1999: Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas1999: Winnie The Pooh: Seasons Of Giving2000: An Extremely Goofy Movie2000: The Emperor's New Groove2000: Fantasia 20002000: The Little Mermaid II: Return To The Sea2000: The Tigger Movie2000: The Brave Little Toaster Goes To Mars2001: Atlantis: The Lost Empire2001: Lady And The Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure2001: Recess: School's Out2001: Recess Christmas: Miracle On Third Street2001: Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed In At The House Of Mouse2002: Cinderella II: Dreams Come True2002: The Hunchback Of Notre Dame II2002: Lilo & Stitch2002: Mickey's House Of Villains2002: Return To Never Land2002: Tarzan & Jane2002: Treasure Planet2003: 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure2003: Atlantis: Milo's Return2003: Brother Bear2003: The Jungle Book 22003: Piglet's Big Movie2003: Stitch! Also have to note, the film Bolt - which will be CGI - looks fairly interesting. It's about a German Shepherd. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0397892/But yes, Disney animation has gone downhill. However, there are a lot of good animated films coming out of Japan these days. I'm talking about Hayao Miyazaki's and Studio Ghibli's stuff, not Naruto. But if you look at the list, there are several times there's been a lull in the film-making. And usually the classic animation takes a lot longer to do for a theater release than the CGI - I remember watching a making-of Lion King and that they were working on it since the late 80's at least.
