Now it's Ivy's turn to have her story told! She goes through problems over own, while controlling her own sled team. Coming across a new dog while wanting to spend the night in a boiler room who seems to want to hurt her. Will she make it...? Rated PG-13 for some violence. Takes place after Balto: Pain
Preview:
Balto: Boiler Room
Skidding to a halt, the team panted and were glad to have the morning runs over with. I for one was tired and ready to have a break as they set out bowls of water for us to drink.
After having all I wanted, I stepped back to let my team have some. Stretching, I headed for the barn where all sled dogs retired after a morning of delivering mail.
Going past a few handsome males who watched me with wide, admiring eyes as usual, I leapt up onto a ledge and lay down.
Putting my head on my paws, I was about to sleep when a shadow fell over me. Groaning, I lifted my head and turned around to see Kirby, Kodi, and the rest of the team coming inside.
My team was better than them, I knew it! We'd come every morning without being late, yet they were always late and never got onto eachother for it.
I felt someone lay down beside me, and turned to see an unusually large white Kishu Inu beside me. Wagging my tail at my friend, I said goodmorning.
"O hayou gozaimasu," He replied, which meant Good Morning to me too. He'd taught me a great deal of his language, and I admired him so with his dark blue eyes...
He brought me back to the present with his next words, "O-genki desu ka?"
Turning soft, I replied. "I'm feeling great, Kai. Thanks for asking."
What probably made me like him most was that he was part wolf like me, and not all Kishu, explaining his large size. Most thought him as a massive Siberian Husky, or Steele's son. But no, he wasn't. His mother was a Kishu Inu that was a showdog, and his father was a tame wolf who was a sled dog who spoke all American.
Kai stretched and put his head on his paws to rest. He'd been out training with his team all morning, while I delivered mail with mine.
The more I thought about him, the more tired I got....and finally I was asleep right beside him and laying my head on his shoulders before I knew it.
"Nanji desuka...?" I heard him asking what time it was drowsily as I woke up when he moved around. Dusty chuckled from down below us while Kirby growled that it was five in the afternoon.
Stretching yet again, I lept down and stepped out of the barn, Kai explaining that he had to get home. He came up beside me and said goodbye, then raced off for the outskirts of Nome.
Yawning, I wandered in the streets for a while. And who do I see but my dear brother Buck? Running over to say hello, he turned his head and saw me. Before I could reach him, he lashed his tail and stalked into his house.
I skidded into the snow, ears flattening. What was wrong with him? Sure, I'd been a bully when we were babies, but I didn't know any better! Right? I knew better now, and wasn't like I was before. Kai had changed me.
Sighing, I turned around with my tail drooping and headed home. I shivered as I passed the alley way that gave me the creeps...It was dark and sometimes I'd see dogs hang out there from a distance.
Suddenly I felt hungry, and realized that my owners would still be out on their vacation for a while yet. And the musher who was taking care of me had forgotten to set out food bowls for the night.
I growled at the thought of him, whom I didn't like very much in the first place, so I kept walking to the butcher's shop. Licking my lips, my stomache growled as I sat down and stared at the sign. Too bad I couldn't read it and know if it was closed or not.
So I went around the corner, and headed for the boiler room. I was tired and didn't feel like spending the night at home.
I got to the door and unscrewed it halfway with my claws as my father had taught me how(though mom didn't approve), and slipped inside.
I stretched and curled up on the rug, ready to sleep, until I heard a faint noise. Thinking it was nothing, I just flicked my tail.
"well look here!"
I sat straight up, eyes wide. "Who's there?!"
End of Preview.
Thanks for reading, and vote what YOU want to happen!

That's right, don't fret. Sometimes people are just lazy or don't want to invest their time in new writers (I've been there, too). Don't worry, someone will come and vote. Oh wait, that's me. Honestly, I'm not sure which option to choose. It seems to me that the first two situations (girl runs to guy, who defends her and guy jumps in and saves girl) are a bit over-used. That's not to say you can't write the story that way. I've just seen a lot of fics like that. No big deal. I would suggest that you consider what you want to happen after this story in the series (this is a series, right?) and if Ivy is going to be involved. If you need her, then you can't very well kill her unless you want to resurrect her somehow, but we'll just side-step that issue. If you don't need her, then you have the freedom to choose, to let your imagination run wild, to toy with the lives of the characters you have created, to- Whoops, got carried away there. Sorry. But just think about what you'll be writing after this story, and then choose what should happen. Yes, in my opinion, you should choose. As much as I value my fans' opinions, I am the only one who controls what happens in my stories. If you want to let people vote, great. This could turn into a very promising series in any case. So, I wish you the best of luck, and cast my vote. For what it's worth, I voted to have Ivy get out of it herself. I'm not so sure about the event scarring her for life, but sometimes it's nice to see a female who breaks a stereotype. (Forget damsel-in-distress, I say. Have Ivy slap this punk silly. ) -LWf

XD, thanks for the advice!!
Actually, I finished the fanfic and changed it a bit. I have a whole litter of pups to toy with in the future(Ivy's one of them, lol) so I'm set. Thanx again!
