Dear Balto Source Members,

another baby harp seal hunt may happen if a ban is not put in place. if the hunt goes ahead, these adorable innocent baby harp seals will be cruelly killed for their fur. killing methods include:Shooting, clubbing on the head or even Skinning them alive.

Please help!

I think it's a barbaric and cruel trade that needs to stop. I signed the petition already.

It is downright cruel,I also signed the Harp seal petition.

I have no problem with animals being killed humanely in moderation for meat, but this is terrible. The killing in huge numbers causes them to suffer (probably other animals that are linked with them in a food chain suffer as well) and then their meat is wasted. Poor animals, suffering, just so some woman can have a fur coat. Such people are so heartless, not even thinking what it'd be like to be scalped alive and then left to die and rot, or clubbed to death, or wounded fatally, but not killed instantly, left to suffer.

I totally agree wit you Spark-BSP! i wander if the women who wear this fur know about the suffering for their fur coat? Some do i expect but just don't care , others are probably just ignorant. Whatever the case, I would love to force them to watch a vidio of the poor little seals being killed. Maybe then they would change their minds, and not wear fur ever again. And that would probably be the most effective way to stop this barbaric practise.

I agree completely shaggystar, the reasonstated that they dont shoot them is it wold damage their pelts

I am completely against unnecessary seal hunts. It's wrong and unimaginably cruel. I can't believe people can actually have the...the heartlessness to be able to just kill an animal in that way...and for what? Just a pelt? How selfish.

Although, I support 100% the natives who kill the seals. They use every shred of the meat, every inch of the fur, the claws, they waste NOTHING. Therefore, I see no wrong in that.

Wishing death upon the seal hunters isn't really the best way to pursuade people to stop the seal hunt. Although, it's a good idea to support petitions against the cruel seal hunts.

Like I said before in this same topic, not all seal hunters hunt just because. Some are natives simply trying to survive, therefore, you can't just wish death upon every seal hunter. =P

I know someone just trying to survive. But some of them, kills for the white soft fur:8 thats not kind!

I know it's not kind but, that doesn't mean you gotta say you want them to die =P

Use your anger for constructive things, like making posters or flyers against the seal hunt. You can hand them out at your school or something of the sort. =)
