I honestly can't speak for parents, not being one myself. But I am fairly certain that in most cases, they do have a reason for acting the way they do.
I also assert that most problems would be much easier to solve with a family discussion, as opposed to the endless, "Because I said so" response.

Well some parents do understand. The reason why they say "no" is probably because they wan't to save money and cut down on pets for awhile. Sometimes they just nneed alittle 'break' from all of that responcibility of having a pet. You can't just keep getting pets after one dies.
