Because a lot of people sympathize more with Balto than with Steele, and considering BaltoxJenna is canon, it can be considered almost offensive when an overly rabid SteelexJenna fan shoves Balto into the background in order to hook up the lead female and the villain.

Anyone familiar with Avatar: The Last Airbender could relate this to the Kataang (Katara and Aang) vs. Zutara (Zuko and Katara) rivalry. Pardon my going slightly off-topic, but this IS relevant. Aang and Katara care deeply about each other, and they are clearly in a solid relationship (with plenty of hugs and kisses and tender moments to prove it), but there are a lot of fans who prefer Zutara because Zuko is more attractive than Aang is, and they think that he and Katara would look good together. Kataang fans don't like to see Aang bashed and his relationship with Katara discarded, and Zutarians argue for their rights to ship whatever they want.

Rivalry betweens ships is a natural part of any fandom, and sensible, healthy debate is fine, so long as it doesn't involve personal attacks. I haven't seen much ship rivalry around BS though, so I wouldn't necessarily know.

It's people's opinions on the matter. Some people just believe things more strongly than others. I personally don't like the idea of Steele x Jenna, but I'm not adamant about it. Some, however, are, and tend to go a bit overboard with it. However, that is no excuse for those who are pro- Steele x Jenna to go overboard with their beliefs on the matter, either.

The main reason why people don't agree with it is because they just can't see it happening, because it was blatantly clear in the movies that she didn't like Steele much, if at all. Not that I have anything against those who support the pairing, but I'm just pointing out why people disagree on this subject. Now, given that it is a fantasy world in which both characters exist, there's nothing really preventing anyone from having those pairings happen. Have it happen, if you want. Just be aware that there will be people who disagree.

Only one thing to say: Anything worth taking seriously, is worth making fun of.

to me, I think it's like a one-sided love. maybe Steele loving Jenna is a considerable theory. but I'm sure that he would never be loved in return. because Jenna loves Balto.

Its all in harmless fun. Most Steele+Jenna fans have nothing against Jenna+Balto fans, at least I don't, so what's wrong with a little mutuality?

Nothing. Its just the fact of respecting other peoples' opinions and interests.

And that whole little conversation you two just had just pinpointed why there's a fair amount of pro Steele/Jenna people.

It comes with "fan-dom". It's pretty much inevitable that after a while, no matter how much you 'love' a movie, you'll get a bit bored of staying within the story of the movie exactly. That's why people make up their own fan-puppies from the un-named pups and so on, I don't really have a problem with any of pairings like Steele-Jenna, as long as they're not silly like Jenna-Niju or Balto-Sylvie.
