What's your characters names??My two first characters are Jake and Jaden and after I draw Kaito and my fursona Sidney, Trey, Davon, Martin and Saske!!!

My characters tend to be less imaginitively named, but that makes sense in my stories because their names were given to them by people who speak standard english (as opposed to individuals fluent in Inuit or other Native American dialects). My main ones are Toby and Luna, along with a cast of others.

I named my character Kiona after my great aunt. Her name means "brown hills" or something like that. I don't remember why Kiona's owner Thomas named her Kiona, but oh well.

I chose Stunner's name because, well, "Miracle" was just so cliche, it wasn't even funny. Thanks to my handy dandy thesaurus, I picked "Stunner" which is basically another word for miracle. Stunner's owner Meg is a pretty smart girl, always asking about new words and stuff. After asking her mom what another word for "miracle" was, her mother listed off some other words and "stunner" was one of them. So Meg named her that.

I named all four of Jenna's brothers after favorite cartoon dogs. Brian (after Brian from Family Guy), August (after Auggie Doggie, from the Hanna Babara cartoon Auggie Doggie and Doggie Daddy), Markus (after the Looney Toons dog, Marcanthony, who took care of the adorable kitten Pussyfoot), and finally Benjamin (after the dog Benji). Fridolf in "Silence of Two" named them before they were adopted, after his relatives.

I named my character Miksa (who's name means "between" as a kind of thing saying he's in between living in the dog world and the wolf world) his teammates after my friends' dogs, Watson, Tazwell, Storm, Boomer, Talleulabelle, and Jack. Their name origins in "Father and Mother" are unknown.

And finally Iron and Cobalt after their father Steele.

And anyone else's name isn't really as interesting XD But even then all of my characters, like myself, prefer some kind of "meaning" to names given, like if they're picking names for their pups or something. Just to add a little something, cuz I think names should be more carefully chosen. I mean after all, they're gonna be called that for a long time, may as well have some fun with it.

I named Achak first, his name meaning 'Spirit'. Then I wanted his father to be the one he was named after so Cheveyo was chosen, which means 'Spirit Warrior'.

The rest of the names of my characters reflex their personalities.

Olathe: "Beautiful"

Ayashi: "Little one" (second smallest, Kiona being the first)

Takoda: "Friend to all"

Kanook: Made it up so I don't know XD Liked the sound of it.

Dartanion: Named after Musketeer by rescue worker.

Tonrar: "Spirit" (named after Achak/Cheveyo)

Hokee: "Abandoned"

Nayati: "Fighter/wrestler"

Matunaaga: "Fights"

As for my dog characters they were all random names, no real meaning to them. My main characters are my wolves, so they're names are special XD

Where do you guys learn these different names?

Fernmask, where did you get those names? I mean Shadow's pretty common, but how did you come up with the other two?

My main character Oliver was named after a dalmatian (croatian) singer, I got Mario Spinelli's name from a funny reggea song.xD
Eris was named after the goddess of chaos (fits her personality), Alwida was named after a female pirate, Chiboa's name means wild dog or young dog in Swahili.
Ravid is a hebrew name, it means 'wander'. I don't really know who Lenny was named after...
Ribar means fisher in croatian (that wofly loves fish xD) and Nightslasher..I don't really know. It just sounds badass, it fits his character. XD

Luna's owner, Connie, was named after Connie Kendall (not sure of the spelling), and her brother Eugene was named after Eugene Meltsner, both from the radio series "Adventures in Oddysee." Rex's owner, Chief Scotty, is a nod to FBI Agent Scotty from Home Alone 3. I think that's about everything. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot Alicia, Terry's owner. She was named at random too.[/quote]

Croatoan: What was carved into a tree at Roanoke.

Crossroads: The crossroads are powerful symbols in witchcraft and voodoo.

Dean: After Dean Winchester on Supernatural.

Amarok: After an wolf spirit of Inuit mythology.

Vanir: A pagan god.

Wendigo: A Native American cannibal creature.

Hasuaki: Hasu means Lotus, which is her father's name. Aki means autumn, she was born in the autumn. I rarely name characters Japanese names if they don't have any plausible reason why they would have them.

Laurel: After the plant. He is an earth god.

Akhlut: An Inuit wolf spirit that can shapeshift into an orca.

Angiak: In Inuit mythology, an angiak is basically the spirit of a zombie child.

Fext: A mythical Slavic undead impervious to all except glass bullets.

Loki: The Norse Trickster god.

Mchinja: Swahili for "Executioner"

Razz, Seth, Ivy: Random.
