Hey there, dudes. I thought I'd be nice and start posting up the chapters for my latest original epic - The Legend of Leo! (I know, the title sucks . . . but all will be revealed later!)

Here's the Prologue for the entire thing, so it should cause you to want more afterwards . . . Hurray!

=============================================
=============================================

The Legend of Leo

(started 1/20/08 – )

Summary: Born in the Alaskan wilderness, Leo is a purebred wolf that no one believes will amount to anything due to his pale fur and small size. Join him as he struggles through the bullying of puphood and learning the skills of how to survive as a member of the pack. As he grows up, Leo will discover a mysterious power that he may need to overcome the dangers that await his pack and fulfill a destiny meant only for him to achieve. This is the tale of a white wolf that would become a legend.

Rating: PG for violence and other survival situations.

Disclaimer: These are original characters and situations created by me. They should not be used by anyone else, except if permission is granted to them by me (Juuchan17). This is only a work of fiction and based only on figments of my own imagination.

Prologue: Two Months Ago

The moon was high that night and the stars were brightly sparkling in the navy canvas of sky – it was a perfect night for the shamanic lupine to observe the celestial beings that reflected from within her stone pool. She did this every full moon for messages and signs from the Great Ones above – it was her eternal duty to interpret the stars and planets above for the wolves that she lived among, for no one else in the pack was able to understand the close binding connection that she had with the spirits.

She was . . . a Seer.

She was old, her coat was worn and faded like a dying star that had long ago lost its luster. Her eyes once shone bright green, now they seemed to blend in monotonously with the forest of her birth. Her form was thin and slender, but she was still able to walk and move as swiftly and nimbly as any wolf half her age.

She looked up at the sky that began to unravel above her at the opening of her cave. The twinkling sight of newly-shining stars – those that had moved on to a better place – seemed to watch her gaze with not a single hint of emotion in her eyes.

Rest well, my fellow wolves . . . We shall all be one again . . . one day . . .

She truly was wise, knowledgeable of the little-known arts of being a Seer. According to lupine lore, Seers were wolves destined at birth to grow and learn the mystic arts of communicating with the Great Ones – the spirits of the wolves. No one is sure how Seers are chosen, but all Seers have been told the tale of the first Seer, passing it down to their apprentice and so on; however, they are sworn to secrecy to only reveal the classified information of the first Seer to those meant to become Seers themselves, so it is impossible for common wolves or either Alpha wolves to know the sacred words of the Seer.

After a moment of prayer for those most recently lost, she saw another sight that made her gasp with thrill and delight – an Aurora! The colors painted the sky with its silent dance, switching direction so instantaneously as the prismatic palette soared and sparkled as if the Great Ones were spreading a bright paintbrush invisibly across the midnight darkness.

Oh, the Great Ones must be pleased of my presence, the Seer thought with a slight nod. The Northern Lights seem brighter and more lively tonight than I’ve ever seen . . . Hmm, I wonder why They are so excited?

The lights only continued to streak through the sky like a rainbow traveling on a random path. A couple of stars, sitting parallel across from each other, seemed to catch her tired old eyes; they gazed back at her as if the heavenly deities that her people worshipped were actually watching. Their twinkle was bright, bright enough to shine through the aurora that whipped around them.

What do you wish to show me? The Seer asked with all her heart. What struggles or joys do you wish upon us, a pack of well-worshippers of your marvelous wonder?

The stars now outlined the face of a wolf, the two bright stars as the eyes. The heavenly outline seemed to lift its nose into the air, as if to howl a reply to the querying gray. Instead, a thin breath of wind soared down from the sky and passed through her ears, almost like a quick blurb of a message. Once the breeze disappeared, the Seer’s eyes were wide and her mouth slowly opened to a soft gasp.

It can’t be . . . It’s time for Him again? Her gray ears pricked up and began to twitch, hoping that she had heard the message correctly. But-but . . . but why? Why is He necessary now? The Seer asked the Spirits with her mind, almost to the point of pleading. We have had a successful moon thus far . . . what could possibly be wrong that He would have to be sent back to our world?

The sky was silent now – the Aurora had vanished away like a visual scent that had dispersed into the air. The bright stars were also back to normal as well, vanished into the crowd of the other thousands of sparkling beings that were once flesh and blood wolves on Earth. The Seer sighed in disappointment at not receiving an explanation, but she knew that in due time she would understand the Great Ones’ reasons.

Ah, normal this is, I suppose, she thought as she began to return to the comforts of her seeing cavern. But in order for Him to return, . . . a she-wolf must be conceived first–

Her paws halted as the thought hit her with a gasp. She knew that legend well . . . the one that she could never speak of . . . so she knew how He was to return. She only stopped once more when she reached the stone pool where the constellations reflected back into her eyes.

The future . . . His new future . . . is already in motion . . .

(Prologue – completed 1/28/08)

=====================================================

Ooh, what is this to mean for her world? And who is Him? Find out more next time . . .

Awesome! When are you going to write more / the next part?

I'm currently working on the first chapter of Book I; it's called "The Birth of Leo" . . . I think it's self explanatory.

Hopefully, I'll be able to post it for you to read, okay? Glad you like the story so far!

UPDATE: 4/23/08

Still working on the first part of the story. It's about finished and I'll be sure to post a bit up here once it's done.

However, it won't be on the BS site until the next two parts are complete (that'll be the first book of the story - there's five books altogether, I think). I'll put the Prologue up tomorrow to start.

Later!
