Can i just note... Its not Always Be my mate/mate for so so in the contest. Yes there are a large number of them but the whole bored is not on one topic, as i see a few that are sled team and pack contest, i had also placed a Banner contest there and a few others that are off the mate topic.

Yes they can get annoying when seen all the time and people should try and think up of a different try of contest and maybe you start doing a art contest, its not that easy you know. And not to be rude or mean or anything but some of your rants are annoying, see me complaining about it? No. Rants like theres dont go anywhere and only take up space, ok with there was a solution to the problem then maybe withing within the rant the solution you recommend or more detail because these can be really useless at times.

Some solutions may be a limite to mate realated art, help people thing of new ways to do a contest and more, it is that simple.

Yes i can see your point and the reason is poeple think that if there character has a mate its "Oh looky, i have a mate and you done haha"...Yes rather annoying. I am starting to add different contest in there, give a wider range of contest to do. Poeple here think if they have a mate for there character then they are all like "cool" and everything but what they dont know is it is rather childish and should grow up and act there age.

In the mean time, i have a contest up for designing a banner for a project and may think of doing a wider range of contest to come.

They are slightly annoying but nothing I can't ignore.

I like the other contests and Adoptions get on my nerves a bit too sometimes but there's also hardly any topics that aren't in those top three sub-sections, that's what I'd rant about more and the fact that I hardly ever see any Balto fan-art anymore, it's all people's fan-characters or other characters.

Out of the last 100 contests,

50% were mate contests
32% were design contests
8% were on who could draw a certain thing the best
7% were miscellaneous contests
6% were sled dog team member contests/pack contests
2% were family tree-related contests
2% were friend contests

The miscellaneous contests: banner, love interest (NOT mate), ex girlfriend, background, names, poster, fanfic cover

Basically half of the contests these days are mate contests. I was surprised at the design contest results (32%). Proves interesting trends, however.

Many people like to put mate contests because once they have a mate they can create pups. Then they can be able to start a family tree by making a whole generation. It's mainly just for fun.

Well im going to have to agree with AJ on this one, except the part about your rants being annoying only because I never read any of your rants before, nore do I come to this section alot because most of the rants on here are completely a waste of time and completely pointless and rarely anyone does anything about it....

I think that many contest makers need an injection of imagenation because the mate contests have been going on for over a year and like everything it loses its value and interest, it was cool to start with but it's been way over used and people need to try think of new ideas, so thank you AJ and anyone else who is making the effort to making diffrent and somewhat original contests^^

really, im wondering when someone is gonna make a rant ABOUT mate related rants (both character and people ones). theyre getting sooo old.
