As i said i have had experience with these dogs within my life, What i am looking for is the opinion of dog owners or people that have had a dog or has experience of dogs. Is this breed suitible for a family? Advanatges and Disadvanatge of have this breed? What will be better, Pup or adult?. Do you think that owning a Utonagan is a good idea? and any more information that you think you can add to help me. I will be very greatful of your help and Thank you.

Answer to Dunkin's post.
Utonagan Dogs have no wolf content at all. They are classed as a pedigree here in the UK, they are not wolf or hybrid it is a pure dog breed. A qoute found within Untonagan dog club and wikipedia "The Utonagan strongly resembles a wolf but in fact has no wolf content at all." So they are not a hybrid at all, The Utonagan is large and well-muscled but with a slender build so as to resemble a wolf as closely as possible.
Yes knowing that you own wolf or wolf hybrid does give great trust in you but i would never take a dog home that has wolf in it or has no papers, Never would i think or let it cross my mind. Yes i know it will be harder than the dogs i have now (1 staffordshire and 2 rottweilers) and i know it will be a challenge. To add to this and your question "but you say that you have been looking after one for some time now, ya?"That is a yes, i have known this Utonagan names Misty since she was a pup, see as her owner works through the morning i was asked to do the 1-2 hour morning walks which i agreed to, spite having school. I have been continuely reading up on the breeds history as proven in my first paragraph that the breed is pedigree.
"And I get tons of calls weekly, from people who have decided to purchase such a animal. Who failed to do their homework first, just thought owning a Hybrid wolf would be "Cool". and later found out it was too much for them, ITs sad, and I don't want this to happen to you....YOu know?" Yes i understand this and no i dont think, Oh i must get this dog or that dog because it will be so "Cool", i do not think that. I just want a dog that i know will make a loving family pet and the breed just cross my mind because of helping out with Misty and i can say she have a lovely nature to her.
"Just be careful is all I am saying, Yes the Utonagan breed as well as others are Beautyful to the eye, but beauty is one thing, and compatablity is another, just make sure it is gonna fit your lifestyle." Thank you, i am quite aware and very greatful for your concern, its not weither the dog looks and beauty that is not what i want. And if i find anymore question then i shall PM you.

Le gaspeth!!!
I LOVE Utonagans!!! I'd defiantely reccommend one, as long as my memory serves me right, Utonagans are a mix of German Shepherd - Siberian husky - Malamute, I own a German Shepherd myself and she's a fantastic dog! Very loyal and easy to train, intelligent too!
I know someone who owns a husky and he says they're fantastci dogs also, have to train them out of the pulling that they're bred for but they're extremely loyal and dedicated to their owner. Same with malamutes I think, I know someone who has a husky/malamute and they say he's an awesome dog.
Pros: Apart form the fact that they're quite rare and look like a wolf they're a mix of some fantastic dogs, from what I've read they're also very loyal and the German Shepherd in them will probably help with training with the siberian husky in there too.
Cons: I don't know for sure about Utonagans but German Shepherds need to have their hips checked, the lower the score the better and they can't do too much running and jumping until after they're 1 year old, not easy with a playful puppy.
I'd say go for a puppy, they bond quicker and are easier to train.

Thank you for the advies and answering my questions. Seen as you all have said to go for a puppy then i will do so.
Whitewolf(uk)-> Being that there is German Shephard in this breed, it could be posible for the breed to have the same problems of the German shep, i am keeping this in mind as the amount of vet check ups are needed. Thank you for the suggestion and knowlage you know about this breed, the information has helped alot.
It will be maybe just over a year until i get a dog like this as i need to think more on my school work/exams and getting the money before i buy one and in hope to have my own place to as it is hard enough having 3 dogs within the house at this moment in time, let alone to think of bring another dog in. And yes i will be sure to send in pictures for you Dunkin.

They were 8 weeks old when i got them. Both love to please and have fantastic temperaments and just adore attention when out walking. http://www.takoya-utonagan.co.uk

The name Utonagan is American Indian and comes from the Chinook Texts as told by Charles Cultee. The name Utonagan comes from the story 'How Cultee's Grandfather Acquired a Guardian Spirit' and was suggested by Brian Jenkins, partner of Lyn Barraclough a Utonagan breeder.
