I'm pretty new, but I noticed something that would make BS that much better...

I think it would be convenient if there was a way to send friend invites. Like, if you go to someone's profile, a link would be at the bottom with the others, saying something like "Send Friend Invite"

Like on Gaia, sort of ^^

I don't know what you exactly mean by "invite". There's an option to send them PMs on the profiles though.
But I plan on adding a "friend" system on the site. (adding other members to your friend list, etc...) Even though it's really not my cup of tea, I know that most of you like these "social network" things...

If you really want someone to be your friend, then yes you should at least make the effort to send him a real message, not an automatic one...

Well, you could link the pm to the profile, if that's what you want.

The link to PM the user is already in their profile. Go to the bottom of their profile and theres a button that says "Send a private message". Thats the link to PM them.

I think this would be better incorporated into profiles as well. I know, it'd be hard... but a lot of people have a "friends list" that does get quite tedious editing with the profile editor. So when you requested to be friends and the other person said yes that person would be added to your friends list.

Well, it depends on how to manage it.

I thought of a one-way solution first : I would add a button on the profiles (or other locations such as the PMs) to add someone into your friend list, and that's all. It would then be a way to contact them without having to search for their name on the site.

But we can also imagine another solution : there would be a button to ask someone to be your friend, and if that person accepts (and only then), each other would be added in their friend list.

I like the first solution much better (especially because it's much easier for me to program ) but the other one is possible too. I also prefer the first one because it's quicker, and it would avoid getting "spam" PMs from everyone who would want to be your friend...

well duh, i know that. I mean like ClubPenguin, if any of you ever been there. Secondly, i mean like have a link to your profile from the pm you sent. Like say, here is the pm:
Sent From -moonlight_magic-
Date: ...
Message:
Blaa, Blaa........

You mean an automatic friends list? Instead of typing eveytime in your profile?

This doesn't mean another way to PM, rather an automatic Friends list added onto your profile instead of having to type it in your profile everytime you make a new friend or fall out.

I quite like the idea actually, it'd certainly make it easier for many members, I've not added a friends list for that same reason, can't be bothered taking the time to type it all out in my profile.

I don't think you're taking some people into consideration.
Other people, myself included, are really insecure, and don't want to be seen as forward, or awkward, or whatever, in a PM. The thing like they have on YouTube, and Club Penguin, and Gaia Online is a good way for these shyer people to make friends on the site.
