Title: Finding Light
Writer/Author: Ariel Lynn [me]
Link: N/A
Category: Relationship/Love, Epic, Slightly Controversal,
Rating: PG-13 (possibly R later on)
Summary: A 17 year old girl named Tasia has always believed in magic, but never thought she would be able to learn it. Once she does, she is eager to learn much more. But could her hunger for knowledge do more harm than good? [better/longer summary will be coming soon. ;D]
Notes:
  • Tasia means resurrection and Aiden means fire. Yupik helped me decide on the name Tasia since I suck at picking names after I've narrowed it down to 3. Lol.
  • I am writting this in parts instead of chapters.
  • Since I am doing Finding Light in parts instead of regular chapeters, I will be posting new stuff every 3 - 4 pages or so on MicroSoft word. That way it won't be too much. Sometimes it will be a little more, sometimes a little less.

Charries:
Tasia
Aiden

--

The prologue is writen in first person point of view, but that is the only part that will be. The rest is writen in the normal third person.

They always say ‘everything happens for a reason,’ but does it really? People die from stupid causes every day, and is there a reason? People kill one another all the time, and is there a reason? Some will say no. Others, will say yes. Me one the other hand, I have very mixed opinions. At times it does seem like everything happens for a specific reason, or more than one. But sometimes there is no reason. And if there is one, it’s hardly a reason at all.

Learning magic is an example I have come to love. Partly, because it applies to me more than almost any other example someone could come up with. I have heard of people learning it for good reasons, although more times than not, they tend to fail. Then there are those who learn with one simple thing in mind the whole time. Learning it just to learn. Or, to seek revenge.

Now, you may be wondering why I learned magic. The honest truth is; I don’t really know. Or rather, I didn’t at the time. Being a seventeen year old girl isn’t always easy. Put being more different on top of that, and it’s even harder. But for that, I do know there was a reason. I didn’t know it at the time, but there had been a reason all along, a slightly hidden destiny that had been under a veil the whole time, simply waiting there until the day I finally opened my eyes and found it. In some ways I am glad I found it, and then again, times were more simplistic before I did. But even if I could go back in time and do it all over again, I would do the exact same thing, choose the same path, and do it all over again.

There are many people that have left my life after learning more about why I am, what I’ve become. Some had good reason to, others just didn’t understand. But through both, I understood. It’s in human nature to be afraid of that which they don’t know. Besides, it was better not having to worry about their safety as well as my own. Strange as it may seem, being alone was much better. No one to distract me. And no one to get hurt.

The only thing I wish I could redo is the number of mistakes I made. No one actually can know the pull of dark magic unless they’ve actually felt it. And if you have, it’s hard to get away from it. That sense of power. The sense of importance. A sense I had never had before, one I had only dreamt of at night. I wish I had known how to keep that power down to a reasonable level, instead of getting carried away as I was warned might happen. But I didn’t listen. My head-strong personality wouldn’t allow me to.

Through the dark magic, there was one reason I actually stopped. And, as weird as it may seem, it was because of a boy. Now, I had never really cared much for guys before this one. As far as I was concerned, they were only good for breaking your heart. That, or using you in some way, causing even more pain and hurt. But I know that without this boy, without Aiden, I wouldn’t have been able to come back from it. I know that and so does he. It was just one of many small things that happened to shape who we are, much like a sculptor makes those little animals out of clay.

Now, I'm sure someone is wondering why I didn’t just give magic up after those events. I’ve heard the question a million times before. And the answer is pretty simple. By that time, magic had become a part of me. Much like your favorite ring, necklace, or any other piece of jewelry seems to do. You just get so used to it being there. And you love it. if you go even a short while without it, it feels like a part of you is missing. It can be something no one else noticed, but you always do. Things just don’t feel right without it. I just couldn’t give it up.

Not giving up magic did earn much ridicule from many people around me, though. But I didn’t care. I still had Aiden, and he still had me. It was all we needed. What made it even better; Aiden had been in the same position as I was. Having someone there to help me, having someone speak from their own experiences; it was amazing. Being completely honest, I would have ended up dead had it not been for him. Not just from tampering with black magic, either.

And now, for the ‘fun’ part. My name is Tasia. I am a seventeen year old girl living in America. Where you may ask? It doesn’t really even matter. I’ve lived, or at least stayed, in over half of our fifty states. In just the short time I have been here on this Earth, I have learned a lot. Not everything was easy, not by a long shot. It may bring a few laughs, smiles, or even tears. And this… is my story…
