I'm not sure if that's anything to do with "Snowballs" (I think I read somewhere that it was just a codename for Balto, nothing more)
But there's something very interesting in this book : two screenshots of scenes that didn't make it to the final cut.

I wonder why they didn't include them, because they seem to have been completed...

These two images were part of a deleted scene. I wish they had a good DVD for region 1 users, comeplete with deleted scenes and all that good stuff! Anyway, I think there's something on Fluke's website about your pic of Rosie and her dad. http://fluke.theicecave.org/pcutscenes.shtml http://fluke.theicecave.org/pbackgrounds.shtml The first scene here shows a brief moment when Rosie's dad was going to hit him with his broom, but Rosie rushes in just in time. I suppose they wanted to go with the hat scene instead, though I think this scene would have been more interesting. The second link shows that they did a background for this scene too.

Here's the link for the Wild Joe pic (along with some other concept art). http://fluke.theicecave.org/pconceptart.shtml

From what I remember reading somewhere, "snowballs" was put on sheets that the animators and other artists weren't sure whether to use or not and/or on production sheets etc. I may have just read bad information but it always kinda made sense.

Because it's worse than the region 2 one, for example? (fullscreen, no documentary...)
