You know what happens when you get that random urge to watch movies that defined your childhood, and now I rediscovered this animation eye-candy on my shelf. You know how in Balto 3, there's an inproportionate usage of both 2D and 3D animation? Well, this one has both as well, but seriously, you could hardly tell.
...For those whose memory needs some tweaking, Titan A.E. tells the sci-fi story of a boy, Cale (voiced by Matt Damon), destined to be the one who leads the rest of mankind to survival after nearly becoming extinct when an alien species obliterates Earth (Hence, A.E. = After Earth). The boy's father leads his son on a journey to find the Titan, which contains the power to reconstruct the Earth back again. Of course, there are those who'd much rather have that power for themselves -- or to destroy it altogether.
One thing I really loved about this movie besides the smooth motion of characters, and an excellent plot line is of course the music. It's very fitting, and had me watching all the way, even through the end credits. I'm currently trying to collect songs from the soundtrack.
There is but one thing about it that didn't make sense, though... creating a new planet takes countless of millions of years, even with a device to speed up the process a bit -- they managed to do it in two minutes. XD But that's it. Everything else fit, and you ust gotta love the characters...lol. Also among the renown voice actors is Bill Pullman and Drew Barrymore.
