Hello,
I will respond to the tons of PM's I've gotten on BaltoSource about my newest project, "Jenna's new life". This may be a long post.
(Fic can be found here: http://baltosource.timduru.org/fic/Jenn ... -6358.html )

Feel free to ask in this topic as well.

Q: Why did you want to do this?
A: Well, I wasn't up for doing it all the way to begin with, but then I began realizing the great potential these ideas had. So I decided to make a fiction about Jenna and Steele being together.

Q: Some people believe this can't be tastefully done. What do you think?
A: Well, everything can be tastefully done. Although some subjects require a lot more work than others, I believe everyone can do this. Literature is art, being a good writer is a challenge, writing is a war.

Q: You say this fanfiction is mainly about Steele and Jenna; why did you include the Kodi x Kirby factor?
A: I mentioned that above ("writing is a war"). Being a good writer is a challenge, but it's the writing that kills ya. Writing a fiction is all about being original, but much of the job is to take someone else's ideas and make them your own. With this I mean, that when writing you should try to look for other people's ideas if you can't come up with anything, and create something unique from there. It's not about stealing; just adapting and modifying.

Q: Are you the first one who's writing this kind of fanfiction on BaltoSource?
A: No. CatWhoHas14Tails wrote one before me, although not Steele + Jenna, but Kodi + Kirby.

Q: Does it disappoint you that hardly anyone is talking about the way it's written because all they see is the homosexuality?
A: No; it's exactly what I am hoping to achieve with the fiction. I'm working hard to prove that homosexuality isn't wrong (personally, I am hetero), and if people see the homosexuality and reads my fiction, I hope they will be enlightened that homosexuals are just like everyone else. So no, I am not disappointed, because that's what I wanted to achieve by adding Kodi x Kirby to Jenna's new life. It's all about public acceptance and understanding. The same goes for Jenna and Steele; some people don't want to accept it, but I hope they will read this fiction, and see that it actually is plausible, and if done tastefully, would make a good fiction.

Q: What sprung this idea into your mind to begin with?
A: This topic: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17502 .
This has been a source of much inspiration, and many ideas to work with. I suggest you take a look.

Q: Why did you use Cat14's idea?
A: Because Cat14 is touching a very interesting subject, which I would like to evolve into literature/entertainment. She is also the one who drew Jenna and Steele's pups, and I've been allowed to use her version of them in the fiction (Thanks, Cat).

Q: Some people may object with you writing this fiction. Would you still continue with it?
A: Yes, indeed. I've had so many ideas from this, and I'm not stopping now. I will finish this fiction, and there really is nothing you haters can do about it.

I do have recieved some hate PM's as well, but to all of those who sent it and may be reading this: Your words are just words, and will not affect my determination to complete it, so you are wasting your time with sending me hate PM's.

You call this idea "tastefully handled." But you have not handled it tastefully, merely delicately. You can handle a dung heap as delicately as you want. That does not make it tasteful, does it?

I am taking the liberty of assuming you have not read the fiction, which removes the validity of your claims. Please do no comment, or criticize the idea/fiction, unless you actually have read it.

The writing world is a war; one creates an idea, the others make the ideas their own. In the world of literature, nothing is taboo; we can write about absolutely everything.
I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but I am not, and will never be influenced by another person's opinions about me, or my fictions.

From now on, if you are going to keep up your attempts at changing my opinions and views, you will be speaking for deaf ears.

Wolflux, as a fellow moderator and a friend I'm here to express my feelings about this fanfic... so here it goes:

I understand your reasons for writing this fanfic and I for one am happy you did. By doing this, you have given the readers and lovers of the Balto universe a new way of looking at things and the characters.

As for those who think that the Steele + Jenna pairing cannot be done tastefully... no offense but you people are narrow minded and not open to new ideas and plans... therefore, if you're happy with the way Balto ended with the hero getting the girl, which almost ALWAYS happens... gee, it's fiction so does that mean, people like Wolflux can't express his own feelings over how the movie could've been done, how the villian could've had his happiness... what the heck is wrong with that?

Wolflux, as you said, everything can be done tastefully and your fic is one of them. I believe and trust your words that everyone can do this and shouldn't be put down for it. And your other words: 'Literature is art, being a good writer is a challenge, writing is a war.'

This fanfic being about Jenna/Steele and Kodi/Kirby... this will be a twister but who am I to judge how you write or who you write about. I respect you and your take on something like this. Writing is indeed a war and the words we write for the writing is a battlefield but in the end, the battle and the war as a whole is over and we have peace of reading our works and those who like to read can read our works and praise and criticize us.

I for one, love writing... some of my ideas come from my own mind and from other well written works. Writing keeps me going and busy and I consider it a great passion.

With both Jenna/Steele, Kodi/Kirby, you are really achieving something and giving Balto's universe a whole new meaning... and I love it! These relationships are about something not many can understand... and therefore they are persecuted or close to it... judged... which is a trial they must go through.

I hope you do finish this fiction no matter what anyone says. I'm behind you all the way Wolflux. howl.gif
