Note: If there is already a topic like this, lock this one. I get the feeling there might be, but I didn't see any.

OK, every forum, no matter what the common interest is, has its "trends" every once in a while. They come and go, and are generally something fun for members to participate in.
However...
Sometimes us users who don't think these are particularly fun have to look hard to find a topic on the boards that isn't just a copy of the next! At the moment, the trend is "interviewing" characters.

This started off as a fun game thought up by Balto_Sarabi, but now it's just out of hand. Yes, sometimes it's alright because the answers are actually something like what was officially stated in the movie. But then you get "characters" like Kodi hooking up with Sylvie (speaking hypothetically) which is NOT a fact, but an opinion. Some of us think they don't go together, and if you're going to create one of these threads, stick to the facts. You are not the character, nor are you even affiliated with Universal!

If it were up to me, I'd ban these threads, but seeing as there's no rule against them, I guess I'll just have to rant and rave to myself. But it's more of a plea: Stick to the official stuff! If you want to make Dixie Mel's sister, write a fanfic! But don't pass it off as information and "answers" to these stupid questions!
If you get to a tough question which would require you to put your own opinion in the place of a real answer, kindly PM the questioner rather than answering.

Flame me if you will, I don't care. Rant to me about how it's "Just for fun, and like an RP", I don't care. (RPs go on the RP board, anyway, luv.)

Thank you for saying that. I know, as you said, it's all in good fun, but lately, it seems like those have been the only really active threads. I think you also touched on the subject about the RP thing, they are an awful lot like an RP, shouldn't they be in the RP threads? Oh well, maybe I'm just cranky. It's been known to happen.

But no, y'all are rather "role playing" as the character, right? Well, no offense, but the vast majority of you suck at being any Balto character. Cuz any random fan is going to say either some random fan character or "I don't know" cuz it wasn't in any of the freaking movies) or at least leave it up to the professional role players, huh? How are people supposed to get the full experience of asking THE BALTO or THE STEELE or THE RANDOM DOG a question, if all you're gonna do is give straight one-sentence answers all the time? You ask Steele why he lied to everyone, what's he gonna say? "Um...DURRRRRRRR--I was evil and I regret everything" uh NO!?

See, if it was someone who was actually good at being a character, I wouldn't mind it so much, but that's not the case at all! And there's tons of Balto characters! That means tons of topics with only like three questions in them! Pretty soon there's gonna be a "Ask Luk!" and all its gonna be is a bunch of "HMM! HMM! MMM! MMM!"s. And its driving me freaking crazy.

Uh..No. What where saying is to post a thread for 'Ask and officle Balto Character' The reason this is anoyying os because no one can answer everything about a character that is not thiers. So they can't officly say who's 'Balto's Daddy' or 'Which was Alue's favourite Siblings' because there is no officle answer.

However...

Ask my charater topics are fine. People KNOW about thier own character and can provide a real answer to people's questions, however stupid.

I agree with you both, Cat and Owned, they can get annoying. Thier are people who are great at attempping it, but the actal fact is that they can't answer most of the questions with a proper answer. If you want to know somthing worth asking where you can get an officle answer, watch the films.
