Here's something that happened at School :] And it's STILL going on >> It happened this Week.
No Names will be mentioned over than the Members of GAK(Grace,Ashlyn(Me),Kacie) Productions.

So "Somebody" got into my Laptop, and took some Private Pictures from it, and Emailed them to the School. The School(Being the Jerks they are), printed the Pictures, and Put them on the School Bulletain board. When We found them, Kacie cried for a bit, and Grace was ready to sue their arses. Instead Grace and I went to the Principal and ranted a bit. Sadly, Our ranting didn't work one bit. So Al though it will get us bad grades, Kacie,Grace, and I decided to skip school today.
We'll later chat a bit about how to Convince them
A. To Take the Pictures Down
B. That it was nothing bad, So they'll automatically take them down,
C. They'll regret keeping the pictures up,
And PLUS:
MY LAPTOP IS MY PRIVATE PROPERTY >> Nobody has the right to use it except for Me, My Father(When His Comp isn't working and he has to pay for something which is rare,), Kacie(When she's with me), Or Grace(When she's with me >>).

Yeah thats pretty screwed up, sorry to here that. If I was you Id take those pics down myself, I mean really whats the school going to do suspend you for taking back your own stolen property. Anyway I hope the situation turns out ok for you and your friends.

I say get the school board on this, they can get fired for what they did and should be fired! If that doesn't work the media outlets will defiantly work, they'll put a lot of pressure on them and the school will have to give in.

It's a violation of privacy to break into such a personal item, including a laptop, and the school posting those on the bulletin is just totally unfair, not to mention unprofessional.

Suggestions? Discuss with parents, etc etc.
Also, can't you just take them down yourselves or is this board behind glass or something? If it's a simple one where they were just pinned on and you could unpin them and take them off, do it as fast as you can.

We did as suggested and Pulled the pictures down. Grace told her mother, and Tomorrow her mother is having a talk with our Principal. And the Teachers are still giving us evil looks >>

I might be wrong, but you could actually sue someone for this, you know. First of all, breaking into your laptop and posting pictures on a public board is likely to be a criminal offense (largely depends on the content of the pictures). But on top of that, you can also get a civil case for the emotional and professional damage done, if any.
That might be going a bit far, yes, but I think teachers and principals allowing/encouraging this is even more extreme, and it should not be accepted.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't schools reserve the right to search and seizure? They're allowed to go through your bags, your locker, your permanent records, so what difference should a laptop make -- especially in the instance that you weren't supposed to bring it anyway? Of course, if they were school laptops, then they'd have every right to do what they did. Any school has the right to search through personal belongings if they feel that a threat is posted by something you might have or something you might know...

...HOWEVER, as for the posting it on the school bulletin part, I'm not quite as sure. The best thing to do is NOT TO OVERREACT. Who knows...they may just have a logical reason for doing what they did. So, the first thing you should do is ask one simple word: "Why?"

I respect that what was showcased was something you considered private and personal. So whatever it was, you MUST make the reason why you thought they never should have shown it off CRYSTAL CLEAR. Explain to them what these pictures mean to you, and HOW MUCH they mean to you. They're entitled to a private investigation, but there really was no need to show it off. And above all, make DOUBLE sure that you're suspecting the right people, and not just blindly pointing fingers.

Moreover...grades are based on individual performance in your selected classes. They won't drop just because the school found some measly pictures. Of course...this doesn't mean you can't get in MAMBO trouble too, so just be careful how you defend yourself.

In response to the previous replies, I strongly suggest that you take political action AS A LAST RESORT. Usually these kinds of problems CAN be solved from mutual understanding, if you can just get the reason behind their actions.

That is so wrong

Now those are two thoughts I can definately agree with! I think you should press charges against your principal and your school. I would so totally charge my school if they did that to me. I am so sorry to hear that. I will send you a pm tonight about it and if you want, you can talk to me on MSN about it. I am so sorry. Nobody has a right to do that.

At the school years end, leave and hit them where it hurts, the pockets. If anyone asks you about that school, you can just tell them what happened here and I know for a fact a mother would never send their child to that school. That is poor of that school to even post those pictures without permission, not to mention who got into your laptop.

I would keep the laptop password-protected from now on just in case.

It's school, you'll get over it.
