What would be your ideal drum set? I'm having a hard time choosing between Mapex or DW drums.

I want a 7-piece kit. One Bass Drum. Three rack toms and two floor toms. And snare.

I would also want some Octobans. I already have Rototoms.

And then I would want ZXT Zildjians. Half in Brilliant finish, half Titanium finish.

You're a Sabian buff huh? I think I prefer Zildjian. (No Offense)

Which do you think would be better, Mapex or DW?

you know Neil Peart also plays his own signature line of Sabians? they are called "Paragon" and they are amazing and extremely versitile

and I would personally go for the DW Collectors Maple series if I was going to buy an all Maple kit.. or if you wanted the best of both birch and maple I'd go for a TAMA Starclassic Bubinga.. check this out! taken from TAMA.com

Stimulating any DRUMMER'S CREATIVITY

The next phase in the Starclassic series – Starclassic Bubinga.
Starclassic Bubinga shells are slightly thicker than those in our Starclassic Maple series. Our builders concluded that a slightly thicker Bubinga shell brought out the best characteristics of the wood: a more aggressive attack, a fuller, a deep/dark tone and a more powerful resonance. Like Starclassic Maple, we offer numerous options to meet the professional drummer’s wide and critical needs. There are more than 50 different shell sizes. The use of maple for the outer-ply enables us to offer 15 different shell finishes. Starclassic Bubinga also features three shell hardware finishes to choose from: Black Nickel, Brushed Nickel and Chrome. Starclassic Bubinga is simply an unprecedented combination of sight and sound

Wow. What a set. Bet it'll cost a pretty penny for the hardware and what-not.
