No idea, but sounds serious. Is he breathing okay? Best to get him to a vet as soon as possible.

From what you're describing, it sounds like the dog is suffering from some disease. You should take it to the vet ASAP if you want to keep it alive. The shaking chest sounds like some kind-of seizure, probably because he may have a clogged lung (this can happen quickly for small dogs, and a bit slower process for big ones). A clogged lung is full of goo, slim or whatever it's called in English (ugh -.-), and might become disfunctional.
This could be quite serious, and I recommend that you take it to the vet as quickly as possible, and, as Outlaw said, arrange a payment plan.
I think there also is a way to put an insurance on your pets, but I'm a bit uncertain, but if there is, and everything turns out alright with your dog, you should make one for it, so that you're certain to afford a new visit to the vet if anything happens.
Best of luck, and may your dog recover quickly.

Thank goodness it wasn't worse, although that is still pretty serious. Hope he gets well soon!
