Imagine this; you go to the pet store and get yourself a beautiful little kitten that you take home. This will be the beginning of a strong bond, and as it grows, so does your understanding of each others and you all live happily ever after ^^ (yeah, right)

I am working on a project about this very subject, so I thought I'd just let you in on what I've learned from personal experience, and from what scientific facts have proven.

As you spend time with your housepet, a bond will slowly form between you. As the pet grows older, the bond grows stronger and stronger. This is the very thing which allows some sort of communication between animal and man.


ESP - ExtraSensory Perception

ESP is, simply put, a form of telepathy.

To some extent, your pet will be able to read you better and better as you spend more time with it, and you'll learn to understand the animal better as well. When both parts are learning each others body language, it opens up for a psychic-like communication, which neither part are aware of. It simply is there.
To put an example; your animal (here, a cat) wants something, and meows to you. If you haven't been with the cat for a long time yet, you wouldn't understand what it wanted. However, when you know the cat well, and it meows, something happens which makes you interpret the sound into something understandable (all of this happens subconsciously, but is very doubted by the scientific community).
I think everything happens subconsciously, because when my cat purrs for apparently no reason, or meows for something, I instinctively fill the food bowl, water bowl, lets the cat out, or something similar.

Now, I'm not saying we can communicate so we understand each others 100%, because that's not mainly what ESP is (in fact, it's subconscious communication). However, there have been documented proof that ESP is existing, at least to some point.

I recently watched an educational video on the subject, where ESP was tested. An owner and her dog was placed in a house for a few days until they were all comfortable, then a video crew waited home, while the owner and another member of the crew took off to the city to keep the owner busy.
So, the owner and her "friend" started the day with some shopping, and the friends kept the owner busy so she couldn't think about the dog. Back in the house, the dog was lying peacefully, sleeping in its dog bed.

The owner and co. spent five hours in town, before the owner was told to think about her dog on the way back, and to think that she was coming home. At the same time (proven on the video records which were began at the same time they left) the dog became restless, scratching on the door, whining.

This led the crew to believe (me too) that dogs are capable of reading their owners thoughts in a simple way, from a long distance.

What are your thoughts about this?

I have done some research on this, and here's what I've turned up. It has been confrmed that certain animals (particularly ones that travel such as some migratory birds) are sensitive to the earth's magnetic field and use it to navigate. It is theorized that many other animals, such as dogs, are also geo-sensitive, perhaps to the extent that they can detect a person's "magnetic fingerpirnt." In other words, scientists believe that animals can "read" the planet's magnetic field like a GPS, and are able to detect familar people on it. This theory has been disputed, but so far the evidence for it (as far as it goes) is consistent.

I remain skeptical.
Most, if not all data on esp are gathered from isolated incidents, like the video you described. Any useful date would have to come from controlled and repeated scientific experiments under laboratory conditions, and such data is nonexistent today (or from dubious sources).
But it might exist, and further research in the matter might prove and/or explain the phenomenon, in so far as it actually exists. Who knows, maybe it is magnetism. But I'm waiting for a conclusive, uncontaminated and accepted scientific and statistical study to prove it.

However, although allowing the research, we should always remain vigilant for any dubious movements that might try to use so called 'evidence' of esp as a vessel to spread their mumbo-jumbo idea's, only to fill their purse (think New Age guru's, of Scientology).

A long time ago,I had a cat that had kittens,and when one of them,was trapped underneath the couch,the mama cat kept meowing at me,and also kept pacing back and forth towards me then the couch,then I lifted the couch and got the kitten out from underneath it,it was like the cat was trying to tell me save my little kitty.

I know of scientific evidence for the magnetic tracking theory. A team of scientists raised some migratory birds (I forget what kind) from eggs inside a set of large magnetic coils designed to block them from exposure to the Earth's magnetic field. When released, the birds migrated as their instincts commanded, but they did so several degrees off-course. Most likely, the scientists believe, this was because they had grown up barred from the Earth's "GPS system" and thus didn't know how to use it properly.


I think that's more a case of animal communication than ESP.
