Fondue - melting chocolate with a candle and then dipping things in it and eating it. A tasty delicacy.

I decided five minutes ago to try and make some with my new fondue set.

Unfortunately the temperature today is 41 degrees Celsius (that's 106 for all you Fahrenheiters) and there is a total fire ban for Melbourne.

So I took it upon myself to try and melt the chocolate using the heat vent of this very laptop!

I thought it might be interesting to see if it can be done so if you guys ever have a fire ban day and the cravings for chocolate, maybe you could do something similar. I'll keep you updated with the results of this little experiment of mine.

Currently I've got a few choc chips melting, it's gonna be a while tho before they all melt. This is about three minutes in, of course.

A mere half an hour later, and I have fondue. It's just like when you use a candle, and almost the same time to melt. If you don't have a laptop vent that you can use you can always stick the bowl of chocolate out in the sun on a hot day near somewhere where your pets can't get at it, and you'll most likely have to put some sort of measure to prevent bugs from getting in it (cloth will work wonders for this). So those who were wondering if it could be done - it can be done!
