Hi Everybody just Chance here. Now you're probably wondering why you clicked this. It's a rant, but not one about the site. But please do stay and read it!
Now What is this rant about? Lately People have been complaining about the popular girls in their school. Now I'd like to clear up all the nasty things you say about them( Because I hang with the Popular kids in my school and I'm popular myself :] ).
1. They usually are stuck up because Nobody was EVER nice to them, so they started getting mean, and found that it made them more popular, so they found it too good to be stopped. Yes you heard right. They're nice within their own little "group" because most of those people are like them. 2. They keep up to date on EVERYTHING because I(Personally) don't like to be left behind on Anything. I can only watch the LATEST eps of TV shows in order to be happy. This too involves something about their past maybe. Like being left behind or such. 3. Only make fun of you to put you down, Yes you heard right. They're only trying to pick out who can stand up for themselves. :] 4. Usually feel as if they're forced to Be mean to others. I can't really explain this one. 5. They don't PURPOSELY set trends, It's the other's choice to copy them. 6. Don't hang out with other people except for the ones inside their group, because even your WEE time is WE time when you have "fans". Explains itself~ But in case you don't get it, it's like this: The people in your group know to not annoy you so much :] 7. You think THEY'RE annoying? Well you talk behind their backs. So of course they're going to be meaner to you. They have a way to know EVERYTHING. 8. They're usually not their true selves. They sometimes act emotionless(Making them "cool"), because They're afraid nobody will like them for their real selves, or they just can't find their real selves. Explains itself. 9. The new girls that become popular might be because their parents are magazine writers or such. Explains itself again. 10. They're good friends to each other because unlike fans, they can actually get each other alone time even AT SCHOOL.
Hope this clears things up! If you have Questions or Comments Post Away.

It really does depend on the sort of people they are. Some 'popular' girls are really nice whilst others can be horrible. The worst ones are the girls who gossip. I've had people who I thought were my friends, but then they go and tell the 'popular' girls my personal feelings. Pretty soon, the word buzzes around my year and people start thinking things about me that just aren't true.
What I'm trying to say is that whilst some 'popular' people are genuinely nice people, you have to be careful, because some are wolves in sheep's clothing.

-Sighs- Don't you see what you're doing? Yes MOST are "pure evil" BUT ALL OF THEM HAVE REASONS -_- You think they're bad? Well here you are talking behind THEIR backs. Heres some advice: Avoid them, or be nice to them. Simple as that. They'll STARVE them selves if somebody calls them fat. Let's put it this way: The one you complain of are run by other people, and what THEY THINK OF THEM.
-Is getting the feeling she shouldn't have started this topic- I know most of you will never agree but I do have my ways....

Agreed. In my year there are about 6 cliques that everyone belongs too. In my clique there's a diverse bunch of us. We have some 'preps', emos, goths, etc but we all get on well. Anyway as I said we're not particually popular but the populars except us and heck, some hang around and talk with us. That clique is the popular 'girly' girls. They're really nice and everyone gets on with them. But then there's the chavs. *shudders* GOD THEY'RE SO ANNOYING. About five of them have had sex and they're all 13. One even got pregnant! They wear 8 inches of make up (though I wear make up I only wear the eye liner, mascara and lip gloss...), they shout at you in that accent and way for no apparent reason. They strut around with their handbags, tight trousers and stick out they're chest. They're posing all the time in a dirsturbing ways and swear all the time etc... So what I'm saying is that it depends on what 'kind' of popularity you're on about. The girly populars are nice but the chav populars are b*****. Sorry for long rant.

I agree with the OP on this one. I live by Microsoft's HQ in Redmond, Wa. I've seen alot of the snooty kids that get handed BMW 330i sedans for their first car. They're not bad people, some of them just don't know any better, since that's the way they were raised. I'm not popular or snooty (heck, I couldn't afford much more then a $2500 car at the time.) but I had friends who were brought up like that and behaved that way.

LOL. Populars only exsisted in my middle school, now in high school, like everyone is in smaller groups, not that big group anymore. I have a friend from every genre, prep, emo, goth, geek, whatever. I like people, for some reason at my school,I used to be shy in middle school. People throw me into the emo clique, but Im nothing like an emo,I just dress punkish and not everyone does(In fact, only happened once) However,I don't agree with people saying high school is the worst years of life. I must go to a really nice public school because these have so far been my favorite years. Hardly anymore stereotyping, everyone usually approaches me instead of me approaching them and thats how we become friends. I don't know if its true, but I think at my school people don't believe in popular anymore. They just either label themselves,or not at all. But,i did loathe some of these people in 8th grade but you know........people change and you should learn to forgive and forget if they give 'nice' a try later. Yap.
