This ties in with the general lazyness of roleplayes that pop up. Though there are some very good, hard working roleplayers, but they are sufficated in the mass of people who barely know how to say "Hello, how are you?" without having to type like they are texting someone.

Anyway, you are right, though sometimes a character may have amnesia but unless that is the case or something similar, I agree, it is an exuse not to bother and sadly, people like to use it.
