Ginga Densetsu Balto (good idea or bad?)

I have come up with an idea to write a Balto and GDW crossover fanfic.

Plot:

Balto begins to have very strange dreams about wars, dogs, fire, explosions, and his old enemy. Steele. Then one morning when Balto is walking through town a large group of dogs turn bloodied and beaten up. It is the Ohu army. The ask Balto if he can join them, Balto however is unsure. Jenna is about to have her second litter and Balto doesn't think he should leave her. Weed tells Balto it is ok and leaves. Five days later, after many agonizing dreams, Balto goes to vist Jenna and she tells him to go if he really feels like he must help them. Balto goes to find the Ohu army and help them. Will he and the army win, or will they all be slaughtered?

Please let me know what you think.

P.S. the army traveled from Japan to see him.

it's a bit too far to travel from Japan to Alaska. after all, Japan is an island's group.
how would they travel? by sea? by air?

May be you should make Weed caught in a plane then traped in Alaska and ended up seeing Balto?
just when the Ohu army needs more dogs?
and then they try to find a way to Japan?

It is really far! Maybe by air? I like your idea. I'll need to think about it. Maybe they all could get tranquilized? This will be hard... I'll need to give it some pretty good thinking..
