I am making a website for Balto, and I am using several very advanced HTML and PhP scripting for it, however, I can't manage to link the website itself to the forum logins. No matter how hard I try.

I need some help (in other words, I need a register/login script).

I would like the script to do the following:
1. Log on to the forums AND the website (think that the website and the forum uses one login, if you see what I mean)
2. Access hidden pages only availible for members.
3. Prevent one IP from making more than 2 accounts.
4. Automatically generate a profile
5. Not bug the PM box (which I've managed to link to the website).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And I posted here because, well... couldn't find an appropriate section, so feel free to move it to the right one ^^'

-What forum build are you using?
-Who are you hosting with?

If you're actually writing the code yourself, this shouldn't be any trouble whatsoever. Just have the forum share the information from the same database as the site.

If that's not the case, it would probably be much easier to use a content management system for your site, like Drupal. It's free, has forum attachments, module upgrades, and when a user creates an account on your site, they can keep track of their own pages, use the forums, upload files, post comments, and so on.

I am using the simplemachines forum. It's much better than the PHPbb forums, to be quite honest.

And I am hosting with b-one.com.

Tried to write the code myself, but failed miserably, so...

Well you need to use the information from the same database and tables when you create the login script on your site. (so you need to know where the passwords are stored, how they are crypted - phpBB uses md5 crypting, for example)
Although it won't use the same session, so people will have to connect on both (there's a way to use the same one, but as you can see, I didn't do it because it's a little bit too complex)

2. Access hidden pages only availible for members.

You need a session, check the PHP doc on session_start() and things like that.
Then you'll be able to check if a user is connected or not.

3. Prevent one IP from making more than 2 accounts.

Store the IP used when the user register on the site or forum (in a database table), and then check in the registration process that the same IP isn't already used.

4. Automatically generate a profile

I'm not sure to understand what you mean by that...

Same thing...

I forgot to ask which content manager you're using, if you're using one at all. If not, SMF offers downloads for integrating with content managment systems. From the looks of it, e107 looks like your best bet.

I took a look at your host and they'll support SQL. They also give you a cPanel.

With a configuration like that, you can make a database by just clicking a few buttons. Also, check to see if your cPanel has PHPmyAdmin. That will make life much easier.
