If it were up to me, I'd pass the franchise onto Dreamworks, since they are mostly the people from Amblin. They'd handle Balto much better than Universal is currently right now.

Dreamworks, definitely, although they're not doing 2D films anymore the last I've heard.

Disney of course...They are the best when it comes to promoting films (even non animated)
You can forget Dreamworks, they will probably not make a 2D film again before a VERY long time. And they don't do much for their previous 2D films.
20th century fox would be a good choice to get a special edition DVD, as the ones they made for several animated films are as good as Disney ones.

But seriously...

Animation wise, Amblimation hit it just right. But if you wanted Balto to be a overpopulated 'classic' that'll bring tears to soccermoms' eyes for years to come, you'd have to bribe Disney to put their iron brand on it.

Yeah but disney would probably make sequels and that would ruin the franchise.

I think Universal has already done that, at least the Disney sequels wouldn't be as lazy and they would have a better plot than WQ and WoC.

I guess so, and if disney had the rights to the land before time, they wouldn't make 13 fricken seqels.

Disney would make sequels that have good animation but are plain boring and weird, in my opinion.

Though my opinion, some of you may not have heard of Mexopolis.

They were the ones who in cooperation with Nickelodeon made El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera.

I think a Latin American company could have made the storyline kinda more interesting, though it would have contained more magic people here don't like in the movies. I think Argentine animation studios or even Costa Rican studios would have made WQ storyline more action packed.

As with recognised studios, I think Nickelodeon could have done a lightly better work.

Disney is not interested in 2-D movies anymore, so its unreliable. Maybe Balto could be owned by a non-american company, who knows...

Maybe a japanese one; they are the country that uses the most 2-D animation nowdays.
