I just recently decided to buy a random book, and ended up buying the entire triology of the "The Dark Matter" series. But I love the books! Right now, I'm still reading the Golden Compass, but I can barely lay away the book to write this to you all.
Well, what are your opinions about it? I think it is absolutely awesome.

I'm afraid that this trilogy is called "His Dark Materials." If you don't pay full attention to the title, even if you're mostly alert, who knows what you can get of such a weird title. But I've read some of "The Golden Compass." But because it sounds so good, I'm saving it for Christmas break where boring school books won't get in my mind and spoil it.

I missed the world premiere of the movie (thanks, Spark, for telling me what its name is on English ), so I'll have to wait until the DVD's out. But by now, I'm halfways through the first book (I have a special edition of the series, containing all of the books in one, plus a few more extra's =P), and I'm loving it so far. Thanks to the film-commercials, I can also imagine how they look like more accurately, which makes reading the books even more fun. Lyra sure has a personality of her own. And Pantalaimon sounds coot xP

I've finished The Golden Compass and have read a few chapters of The Subtle Knife. I was surprised to find out who Lord Asriel and Mrs. Coulter really were and the ending was nearly nothing what I imagined, kind of like a cliffhanger that doesn't need an answer. Now the second book is tying some things in the first book together, not that they didn't need to be tied together. I was also surprised at how much the two books flow together, much more than I imagined they would.
