Well last winter I was so close, so very close to racing my two sled dogs in the NJ winter sled races.. but unfortunatly the races never happened because we didn't get enough snow. So instead I just mushed the dogs without races along some trails in the woods. But if there are races this year I'm going to race my one dog (the husky died )

But when I do grow up I'm going to mush a team of hukies.. Alaskan Huskies, Siberian Huskies, maybe some Malamutes and eskimo dogs.

I have ridden on a the sled er whatever you want to call it

It was very entertaining so I am sure I wouldn't mind mushing some dogs

In New Zealand it doesn't snow a whole lot, but there is an annual race up at Wanaka which looks like fun.
There are also a few smaller races in Canterbury's Bottle Lake Forest, which might be easier, LOL.

As for breeds... heh, I'd probably take a shelter-mutt. I've seen people use Labs, Pointers and Huntaways, so why not?

I'm going on a dog-sledding experience in Kent next year.
-Very excited about that.-

However, I doubt they'll be snow so some day I'd like to go to Canada or Alaska to actually experience the REAL thing.

It would have to be with Huskies and Malamutes for me. ^.^

I'd definitely give it a go. Maybe with a husky cross.
