Definitely Balto. The Prince of Egypt was good, but I think I only saw it once...it wasn't one of my favorites.

Both are awesome movies, and you can't really compare them cuz they're not really in the same category of movie. But I still must say that Prince of Egypt was better. Both movies were too short if you ask me, but the thing with PoE is that I actually liked the songs. Both movies are suited for the entire family (and they mean it) but I dunno, I guess PoE has more meaning to me, but it sure gave me goosebumps XD And it has more of an impact like that.

They're both great films if you ask me. PoE is a bit like Balto, both based on true stories, not exactly true and both are enjoyable to watch.

Heck, the only thing they really got right about Balto was the time, the places, and the epidemic. 90% of the film was made up. So you mean to say Prince of Egypt is actually accurate?

Heck, the only thing they really got right about Balto was the time, the places, and the epidemic. 90% of the film was made up. So you mean to say Prince of Egypt is actually accurate? It is almost entirey true to the original story, which in turn matches up with archeological science. For example, the death of the Pharaoh's firstborn son in the story matches a second-son heir recorded in Egyptian history at around the same date which the records of the Old Testament (or the Torah, with respect to my Jewish friends) say these events took place. Also, in that same timeframe there are references to an individual named Thutmos II, a name which may be linguistically tied to the name Moses. Also, there is the fact that ancient Isrealite architecture shows noteworhy similarities to Egyptian architecture, suggesting that the Isrealites may have spent considerable time in Egypt at some point. In short, aside from some people's bias against the idea of a divine being who intervenes in the business of mankind (a bias which a thorough and open study of even small parts of history can dispel), there is no reason to disbelieve the account in Exodus. On the contrary, we have numerous reasons to believe it entirely.

But I guess since I'm here I'll pick one. I don't know, I like both movies. I would say that the Prince of Eygpt is the best to me because the story is true (Dragon Tamer is correct, most of the Exodus story has been found to exist for real within the world of archeology, so it's not a Bible fairy tale at all.) The only thing wrong with the movie other then Rameses is Moses was way older in reality then what it showed (He wandered for 40 years before getting to Midian, so he should have been almost elderly!), but I guess artistic liberties are fine. I'm not unhappy about the way they made him look, in fact, I love their style! It's so different then most normal animation styles that it makes one want to look at it again and again. I also love the fact that POE wasn't afraid to show God directly as a living, real person (Without form though), and the music is SWEET! Too bad Ofra Haza is gone, her voice was the best on those songs... Balto is a great movie to me and it always will be, but I guess I POE is cooler in my opinion because of the reasons mentioned above.
