We don't know what they are planning to do (although it seems unlikely they are planning a Balto 4 after the answer to our previous petition)
And we didn't "send" the current petition to them yet, there are just not enough signatures. (the previous one got more!)
And good luck about contacting Universal, if there was an easy way be sure I would do it. The common way is through their official site, but they never answer. (at least for me)

The current petition requires 2,000 signatures.
And Universal replied to the last one:

"We had been entertaining the idea of producing another Balto movie, but the sad truth is that not enough people bought the last one to make it attractive to produce another. You see, in order to be able to produce a film, we have to know enough people are interested in buying it to be able to pay for the cost and marketing.

We really like the Balto character and are pleased to know that there are people like you out there that are such big fans.

My best regards,

According to the Universal's reply and the content new petition I understood that Universal is not going to do anythibng connected whith Balto. And we can only appeal to Steven Spilberg to buy the lisence or something like that. Nevertheless seven years had past before Balto 2 was shot, and may be they will undrerstand that they were entirely wrong. It remains to be seen.

Yes,I would like a Balto IV but the petition does need more signatures but there is also fan versions of a Balto 4, such as Balto IV:JoR by Balto_freak (it's located here in the forums) and others. By the way, since oyur new one f the rules is no double posting, so try not to double post.

I read new petition, and it does not say anything about Balto 4, it asks Unversal only to create a special edition DVD. That's all. And it seems that everybody has forgotten Balto4.

Why didn't enough people purchase Balto 3?

Yes, I know. It does only ask for a special edition DVD and it has nothing to do with a Balto 4. Yet, Universal replied to it with how they couldn't make another movie.

If they didn't want to make one when Balto 3 was still recent, they would surely not consider it now that it's been 3 years. The only solution would be to get the whole Balto franchise more popular, and it's one of the reasons for this special edition DVD.

And the previous petition is here (I'm surprised it's still getting signatures) :

You mean that if Balto franchise becomes more popular Universal will have enough reasons to create Balto4? And the first step is special edition DVD? Am I right?

In a way, yes, you are right. If Balto becomes more and more popular and more people start buying any Balto merchandise, Universal might consider making a fourth film. As far as the petition goes, it would certainly help is it had a lot of signatures to also show Universal how many people like it.

And to Steet's reply, yes there is not a high chance of another film because animated films take 3-5 years to make and Balto III came out 3 years ago. Balto Iv would only have a chance of happening if it became very popular. After all, LBT is popular because they get a lot of TV advertising and Balto 2 and Balto 3 got hardly if not any advertsing.

How many signatures could you possibly get, can I ask? Sure, any signatures help, but it'd be nice to know exactly how many you plan to get.

Also, the link to the petition is here:
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/balto- ... dition-dvd

I'm not too sure Universal would really do anything even if they got the petition. If they do make a new Balto sequel though, I fear it'll be as bad as the last two - the first sequel was downright rubbish in quality and the second sequel rather boring.
