Well, if you ask me, some people like to take the easy way to being well-known by doing stuff that will make them infamous in a bad way rather than well-known in a good way. Heck, if nothing else, saying you're leaving forever is the easiest way of getting attention that I know of! (not that I've done it, but it technically is the easiest and fastest way)

But I do agree, that getting a good reputation or becoming popular in a more positive light is something that takes time. I mean, I still can't understand why some people think that when they join a site, everyone will be like "OMG!!! It's a new person! Let's freaking worship even though we've known him/her for about ten seconds!!!11one" or something to that effect. I personally just didn't care too much if I was popular or not when I joined, as I just... well, didn't. What can get on a lot of people's nerves is when people go around whining about how they don't have any friends, and they joined yesterday. Even online, it takes time for people to get to know you and know what your personality is like, and therefore decide if they want to be friends with you or not.

That's my take on this.

Agreed. Everyone is a newb once, but it is the well-known people who where the ones who didn't seek attention. It is so sad that people think that they will be known to the whole site in under and hour or so. Some newbs just lack patience, if they take a little time and patince and you'll find you get to be known in a GOOD way. How can they possibly think that evyone will "worship them" Other members are people who are Balto/Lionking fans, not YOUR fans, but thats goes for any site too.

A new member signs on. New member whines that they aren't acknowledged when it's obvious people in ShoutBox are in heavy discussion over something. Member claims to leave forever only to return later the same day.

It really gets on my nerves. Of course you're not going to be worshipped instantly or something, of course people won't know about your work sometimes! These people whine about people not visiting their gallery and the only galleries they frequent are the "popular" people! Yes, everyone will love you if you're like that. Not.

oo..great tp! if you want people to see you when you come in... just put a smilie face next to " hi" or " hey, " or " sup? " that way people see the face and go. " ooooo"

i find that annoying too.... i mean if the newbie is gonna leave..let them leave... not like i know them

I totally agree with this. Although not all new members are like that, I see a whole lot that are. They have to learn that you simply cannot gain popularity over the course of a day. It takes time to be noticed by others, and people really shouldn't complain about their ''social'' status.

What bugs me a lot is when new members post in let's say, a contest in the Fan Art section, saying that they'll join the contest only if the creator of the thread joins theirs. Or when they PM you, telling you to look a their new fanfic, or to look at their gallery [even though you already have a whole lot of times]. This doesn't just happen with new members, but also with members who've joined half a year ago or so.

What's also pretty bad is when others constantly nag the, may I say, more popular members on the site about using their character and making things up so they can get into the story that the popular member is making. It just really bugs me.

And when I see members complaining and whining about being unpopular here and in real life, it makes me want to roll my eyes and leave the shoutbox at that very moment. If you're new, you won't make a whole load of friends instantly. It takes a while to make friends, online and in real life, that's just the way it is.

the newbies MUST face it...their not anymore popular than we are... and we aren't going to talk to them because they are ANNOYING!

Well, I've noticed that I am a newbie and that, with the help of some friends, (looks at Aleu_wolfdog and Letranger lol ^^) you can become fairly well-known on this site. With the help of those two friends, my fan fiction has become a relatively popular thing on this website. So, I've found that making good friends on a huge website like this helps out a great deal if you are trying to get noticed.

I'm not talking about friends in real life that are on here I'm talking about befriending the members of this site.

Some MEmbers on this site are Very popular because of thier ''Fanart,fanfics,fanimages its sad to see new members being left out for nothing i just hate it.
